Just for the record, I want to reiterate, not even the person who heard this and told me this knows if this is true or not.  It's fun to think about, and it is definitely a possibility, as is about anything at this time.

Just use basic logic, and one thing is for sure:  the status quo is always changing, and in the music industry, things change quickly.  If Tommy and Paul can work together, there is no doubt that Slash and Axl can work together again.  In fact, Tommy and Paul's public exchanges have been as harsh or harsher than Slash, Duff, and Axl's.

Any way one cut's it, by this fall, the picture should become clearer.  Let's just hope for great music, as that is what is it all about.  Great music, now that is something that all of the enigmas we discuss can produce.  As fans, everything else is fun, but to be a real fan, it's all about the mojo, the riffs, the show, the talent.  Let's hope for something great musically, and let the dust settle where lands.

None of that is really the point right now.

In the case of Guns N' Roses, it's really no longer a matter of two or three guys being able to "work things out."  Rather it is summed up in the mindset of just one person - W. Axl Rose.

Even if Velvet Revolver didn't exist and the other ex-members wanted to regroup, it still would not happen.

*coff* IRS *coff*

Oh, if ever!  crying What a shitty typo. I'm in the nastiest hay fever ever that's why.

I would assume you are not a music fan if the mere thought of the same lineup that recorded Jungle, SCOM, Estranged, NR, PC and other timeless classics ever getting together again doesn't send chills down your spine.

IMO the musical chemistry between them was burnt out a decade and a few years ago.
Apparently it doesn't last long in most cases of great bands.

You can have IRS, we have still heard nothing that touches any of the old line-ups classics. Maybe the "Big Guns" can enter that rarified air, but we have heard nothing yet that would fit that mold.

Cheesy Ta! I take IRS, Oh My God, Riyadh and Chinese DEMO on my side. I could ask nothing better.
I can clearly see the Muse of Rock n' roll beaming at them. love
GN'R fan or no, a real rock music fanatic would recognise her big smile in IRS.

You are right about one thing, we have not heard anything close to the old classics because we have not heard anything even in studio quality. You cannot possibly judge the current lineup from IRS - nor even Oh My God (which was a demo). To further that, the old appetite demos that were actually recorded in the studio were not on par with the actual released ones. It is too early to say one way or the other. Finally, it is not 1987 aymore, not 1991, so I hope that they make new future classics.

Bloody hell! If anyone thinks that NuGn'R is better than Old Gn'R, then they must be insane! Fuckin' hell! How can you think that what we've heard from NuGn'R is better than the songs of the old band!
It'd be fuckin' excellent if Gn'R got back together and did a tour. Hell, I'd follow them from gig to gig! Even if it meant me spending my parents entire life savings! Yes, I'd love to see NuGn'R, but how can you tell me that you wouldn't be excited about Old Gn'R gettin' back together!!?? Are you mad!!?
Either that, or you ain't a real music fan at all, you sick fuck!

That's not being a sick fuck, that's called having an opinion. An opinion that happens to differ from yours. Oooh, terrible   confused   I would be grateful if you tried to respect the fact that not everyone thinks like you.

And for the record, no I wouldn't be excited about old GN'R coming back. As a matter of fact I would be quite gutted. Now you can think I'm a sick fuck, but please keep it to yourself.

Cheesy Yay. Why not, I'm mad for GNR's new music and proud of it.  Even My name is Maniac.

here here, I guess you're a fan of your idols (from good old days) rather than music in whole.
Nothing wrong with it, but distinguish "music" and "musicians", before calling us out for fucks sake.

I don't want to see a renunion. When read things Tommy has said and compare them with things Slash has said (and even look at their names... Tommy... Slash - who's the tool?) I have to say I definitely would rather support a band with someone who doesn't suck ass in it.

That said, I like VR (which is unfortunate seeing as everyone but Kushner and Weiland are douche bags).

Kushner?  The only reason he isn't one is because he isn't allowed to talk in public.

Me of course.
If you want a reunion even after listening to IRA, I assume you're not a music fan. Go to the US when they're playing in the UK.

Madagascar is just as  good as any old gnr song and the blues is just as good as patience or dont cry.  So what are  you talking about?

It's better to just let him be. Before you know it we'll be hearing about how Silk worms, OMG, CD and IRS are as good as any rocker on Appetite. I love Madagascar, but anyone I have ever played it for normall reacts with "what is with all the quotes" and not "man is that an awesome song." The Blues is another good song, but the general comment for that is it sounds like a bad 80's rip off of a power ballad. Yet some how they stand up against Estranged and NR....... songs which rarely yield comments like that confused

I'll take the Blues over Don't Cry anyday (obviously not Estranged and Nov Rain). Said it before and will say it again, outside of Get in the Ring, Don't Cry is the only other song that dropped Gnr in to the hair metal category. DC is pure cheese with 3rd grade lyrics. The Blues is more like Yesterdays meets a smaller condensed Nov Rain. It is just a nice clean pop song, but certainly not as cheesy as Don't Cry (and certainly not as 80's).

Actually, I think your the sick fuck. Or maybe just the dumb crazy fuck. You haven't heard any studio tracks. Until you do, maybe you should shut the fuck up.

It's all a matter of taste, of course, but I found this interesting...I have a 14-year-old nephew...good kid, bright, plays baseball and was VIP of the team, plays all kinds of sports, popular with the ladies...overall, a cool kid among his peers.
As a teenager, he listens to what's trendy and cool...he bought GH 'cause we're close and he wants to understand what I like..I played him IRS, Blues, Maddy, and CD....didn't say who it was, but he figuredm it out.  ANyway, he REALLY dug'em  Liked Madagascar best of all...said it was "really dramatic"...liked the movie lines, said they "tell a story if you pay attention"...he liked all the songs...said they were better than anything he hears on the radio.  His dad is a singer/guitarist, so he knows good music.
He said it was different fom the Gh stuff, but just as good from a musical and emotional standpoint.  From a 14-year-old who was a big Limp Bizkit fan and listens to nu-metal, I thought that was awesome.

This thread is REAL off-topic now, ain't it???
