The title says it all what covers what you choose I dont believe this has been discussed before you can keep remaining tracks as well on there. I know the theme was meant to be punk rock cover but lets not do that here.

Only Women Bleed
Tie Your Mother Down
Dead Flowers
Heartbreak Hotel
Sail Away Sweet Sister
I Was Only Joking

I think if GNR would of done Mountains "Mississippi Queen" It would have been awesome.? By the way, Ozzy sucked at his rendition of that song.

Spiraling up through the crack in the skye...

I know that this song was not released at the time but a perfect song for Axl to cover would be Paperbag by Fiona Apple.  I have read that he is a fan of hers and has been seen at some of her past shows.    The closing of the song is as follows:

And I went crazy again today
Looking for a strand to climb
Looking for a little hope
Baby said that she couldn't stay
Wouldn't put her lips to mine
And a fail to kiss is a fail to cope
I said honey I don't feel so good
Don't feel justified
C'mon put a little love in my void
She said it's all in your head
I said so is everything but she didn't get it

I changed the he's to she's and all the craziness talk is relevent.  Do you guys know this tune?

The title says it all

Then perhaps you should have been a bit more careful in typing it  hihi

But anyway, there should have been a good Stones tune on there. Maybe "Some Girls" or something.

Rock the Casbah
Cocaine
Stairway to Heaven
Incense and Peppermints (If they could pull it off without sounding...well...hippy hihi)
Bad Penny
Piece of Me
Shuffle It All
Whiskey in the Jar
Love Will Tear Us Apart

I've always thought they would've done a kick ass version of Heart's Barracuda if they'd of thought of it. Seems like it was right up their alley.

some off the beaten path choices:

"Sister Anne" or "Kick Out the Jams" by the MC5
"Ace of Spades" by Motorhead
"TV Eye" by the Stooges
"Who Will Save Rock N' Roll" by The Dictators
"Borstal Boys" by The Faces
"Gimmee Back My Bullets" by Skynyrd
"Highway Star" by Deep Purple

As for a Lies Acoustic/It's Alright vibe, Axl solo:

"Brass Buttons" or "In My Hour of Darkness" by Gram Parsons
"Thirteen" by Big Star
"I Want You" by Dylan

Is "soon" the word now Axl?

« Reply #10 on: April 22, 2005, 03:19:27 PM »

Piece of my Heart by Janis Joplin would've been cool...

along with:
All of My Love-Led Zeppelin
Sweet Emotion-Aerosmith
A studio version of Wild Horses
Billion Dollar Babies-Alice Cooper
Living After Midnight-Judas Priest

It would be pretty fucking sweet if they did a cover of Man in the Box by Alice in Chains as well

Anything by Heart or Zeppelin would fit Axl`s vocal style pretty naturally. Maybe an Aerosmith song or two?

I would love to hear Axl cover "Seasons In The Abyss" by Slayer and "Cars" by Gary Numan.

I literally jizzed myself when I first heard Axl screaming the chorus to Hair Of The Dog, so there's not much more I could have wanted from TSI.? But if I had to choose any others:

The Beatles' "Blackbird"

Sex Pistols' "Substitute"

The Animals' "House Of The Rising Sun"

Janis Joplin's "Crybaby"

Even though I can appreciate The Spaghtetti Incident, if it were up to me, I would have prefered GN'R never did the album.

Covers are fine now and again, like during a concert perhaps, but not actually recording them.  Not an entire record anyway.
