But tell 99% of the population that.....regarding a band that hasnt released an album for 10 yrs and the reaction would be Huh....a healthy interest???

What a load of bullshit. Did you know there are Elvis fans? OMG, the guy is dead, and he hasn't released anything in about three decades. Those people must be cehrazy.

hopefully Im getting the hang of this quote thingy.

A load of bullshit huh???.

Maybe Im stupid but lets compare the 2

Axl is alive and hasnt done shit in over a decade.

Elvis is...DEAD......and whilst alive was very, very prolific.

Hmm...now what is the difference between the 2 kiddies???

Elvis fans KNOW that the past us the past .

What I was talking about as far as fans holding on to unrealistic hopes is completeley different than other fans of Elvis who hold onto there particular time period that they love....as much as I dont undersatnd them being unable to move on.....at least they are rational.

But the thing is, a lot people here are also holding on to their favorite time period in regards to GNR, and that's around '87-'93. The possibility that we might get some new music is just a bonus Smiley

I have a 5th one :

The one who likes to chat with people he/she will never meet despise having no news of a long awaited album.
Continues to come to discuss life events such as the appointment of a new pope or the war in irak.
Has made virtual friends all over the world and feels a board can be just as homely as a caf? with real fleshed friends.
Also visits other artist's boards ( i do, robbie, kylie, madonna, viggo, VR, many many others) and posts in each every day.
Hs become internet addicted and replaced choco with cable.

definitely.  As time goes by, more people just like to hang out in the jungle/Bad Obsession.  And occasionally look at the GNR section to laugh about 'Coyotes in Atlanta' and watch threads get locked.
