There is supposed to be a re-release of "The Band Time Forgot" from amazon coming soon.? In the description it claims to have information on the release of Chinese Democracy in summer 2005....kind of interesting.? I'm sure it's a guess from the author at a release date or something to throw in there to sell more copies.

About the Author

Paul Stenning is a regular contributor to numerous music publications, mostly in the heavy metal genre, including Metal Hammer, Record Collector, and Terrorizer magazines.

Product Description:

Both new and old incarnations of the explosive rock band Guns N' Roses are discussed in this compelling biography. Featuring exclusive interviews with key players on their personal and musical histories, and supplemental color photographs, this is a comprehensive look at where the band started, the reasons behind their infamous split in 1994, and what the original members are doing now. This fully revised edition contains information on the highly anticipated Summer 2005 release of Chinese Democracy, Axl's first release in 10 years, as well as details of ex-lead guitarist Slash and ex-bass player Duff's hot new band, Velvet Revolver.

hmm.. probably wishful thinking though

this "journalist" is probably just basing that statement on all the rumors that were flying around a few months ago about a summer release...it is quite obvious now that a summer release will not happen - if they were releasing it in summer, we'd have an announcement by now...it looks like once again we'll have  to shift the potential release a few months into the future...what a worthless fucking band

Complaining about a worthless band.  Is there job to please you?  No.  They are making an album to it's best potential, it'll be out soon.  Just quit bitching about GN'R being worthless...I'm frustrated with no release either.  But bitching isn't going to help matters, just make them worse than they already are.

Could be a trick to get more GNR fans to buy it. You know how desperate ebay sellers can sometimes be.

The original book was pretty good, the author made a mistake though, he said One in a Million was never played live.

The book is not bad, but they used the same technique when it was first released. Of course instead of summer 05 they used a closer date but the marketing strategy is the same. No one knows when it's gonna be released besides people in the GN'R camp (and most of them can't talk about it).

This author doesn't know anymore than any of us. ?He gets his info straight off the web and he sometimes gets his facts wrong, read the book, it's not very good and quite shallow. ?I learned nothing about GNR that i didn't already know.

When it was first released, it was promoted as being released in time with the album. Who knows...

Probably just a marketing trick to get the sales numbers up....

On the other hand it would be cool though...

Maybe we should re-title this post "The band that forgot it's fans"?

Oops, did I say that?

Yeah, that pretty much hits the nail on its head.  How would sorry ass Axl feel if we all forgot about him and all his issues.  Lets boycott Chinese Democracy, not out of spite but out of principal.  I mean c'mon, Jimi Hendrix has been dead for 35 years and he still has new albums being released...so does Tupac.  Axl is worthless!!

According to Caram Costanzo only 3 guys know what's goin' on: him, Axl and 'another guy'. Not Dizzy or Tommy for sure.

Well, he says it's the first release in ten years, when in fact it's a lot closer than twelve.  I'd like to be optimistic, but I wouldn't get my hopes up over this guy who misjudged an easy fact like the one above.
