Week of 08.09.04 -- 28,608 Soundscan U.S.
New total = 1,058,511 Soundscan
BTW, Soundscan figures are taken from subscribing venues, which Soundscan estimates is 80-85% of the nation's retailers.

Geffen still hasn't applied to have this record certified gold or platinum. I wonder why? Appetite really needs to be updated as well. It kind of pisses me off.
Ill bet AFD is near 18-20 million in the US by now.

Like I said before, they will more than likely wait until after CD has been released before they buy a full audit. They're also probably monitoring Soundscan sales for the back catalogue in order to better time a purchase.

I only see its Soundscan sales up to January of 2003 where it was around the 1,000,000 mark. Conceivably, it could have sold up to, roughly, 1.5 million more--based on the fact it falls off/is on the bottom of charts from February onward AND sales of other chart-bottoming albums during those times (meaning, it sold under, roughly, 20K each week thereafter).

Unless CD is too far into the future that they decide to do it sooner:

Yes... it had the second highest % change behind the Killers' CD. It's also ahead of Velvet Revolver on this week's chart. I wonder what caused this increase?
