I'm really digging the new Robert Plant single - Shine It All Around. I don't think the full album is out yet, but I haven't listened to much of his other solo stuff. If it's anything like this new single, I gotta check it out...anybody else hear this?

I think Page & PLant went seperate ways in `99. I heard JImmy wanted to keep on touring and stay with their signiture sound and Plant wanted to take a break and explore more "world music" stuff.

Plant's North American summer tour in support of his upcoming album with the band STRANGE SENSATION, "Mighty Rearranger", will kick off June 15 in Providence, Rhode Island.
"Mighty Rearranger" is scheduled for release on May 10 via Sanctuary Records. Credited to Plant and his current band the STRANGE SENSATION, "Mighty Rearranger" is his first studio work since 2002's "Dreamland".
According to Billboard.com, "Mighty Rearranger" was written in Snowdonia in Wales and Solsbury Hill in Somerset, England, with the STRANGE SENSATION, which consists of guitarist Justin Adams, drummer Clive Deamer, pianist John Baggott Skin Tyson (once of '90s U.K. rock act CAST) and bassist Billy Fuller.

Launch Radio Networks reports: Former LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant releases his new solo album, "Mighty Rearranger", tomorrow (Tuesday, May 10). It's Plant's first outing on Sanctuary Records, and a step away from the major labels he's worked with in the past. But Plant says that these days a smaller company is the way to go. "Stay away from a major label," he told Launch. "You know, you've got to be able to deal with people who are telling the truth. You can't be in a position where, if things aren't happening for you within four weeks, you're history and you're left dangling forever. I know quite a few artists of my era who are in that position now, who just can't get away."
Plant is accompanied on "Mighty Rearranger" by his latest band, the STRANGE SENSATION.
Plant and company kick off a North American tour on June 15 in Providence, Rhode Island.

The album go to number 4 in the U.K. I'm so happy. I thought no one would by it 'coz his other albums havent set the world alight and you know what folk are like today, I thought I did anyway. Turns out some people do still have taste.

Legendary rocker Robert Plant ( has added several new North American dates to his current tour in support of "Mighty Rearranger," his first collection of all-new solo material in more than a decade. After Plant's current U.S. run ends on July 24 in Los Angeles, he plans to play a few shows in Europe before arriving back in North America Aug. 10 for an appearance in Ottawa, Ontario. The just-added leg of the former Led Zeppelin frontman's tour will take him through Canada before hitting several cities in the U.S. North and Southwest. After finishing up his U.S. business, the busy Plant will gear up for a long European tour late this year. Plant's European itinerary is posted at his website.
Backing Plant on the new album is The Strange Sensation, a band he formed in 2001; the group--drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead, Roni Size), bassists John Baggott (Portishead, Massive Attack) and Billy Fuller (Fuzz Against Junk), guitarist Skin (Cast) and multi-instrumentalist Justin Adams (Sinead O'Connor)--first appeared on Plant's Grammy-nominated, 2002 covers set, "Dreamland."
Plant and company wrote and recorded the new album last year in Snowdonia and Solsbury Hill, U.K., according to a press release.
"It's always idiosyncratic; we're a weird bunch of characters and we all do stuff in a non standard way," Strange Sensation's Adams said in a statement. "Robert is an interesting person to work with. He encourages people's individual styles: he's happy for me to bring in unfamiliar North African rhythms and for John to introduce weird electronic sounds; it doesn't happen that often nowadays. Usually, it's one guy at home with a computer. It wasn't like that in '60s and '70s--people were breaking rules and inventing new forms of music. We are closer to that spirit of weird and anarchic ways."

I finally got my copy of this album, and it's great! It's probably the best thing I've heard this year. Very unique and original sounding, but still classic rock. I highly recomend it to anyone looking for a good, non-EF type rock fix.

That's too bad. I did some reading about his solo career, and I guess this album is a relatively new sound for him, although his last album sounded kinda similar, but this one has much more energy. Anyway, it's very classic rockish sounding, with a little trip-hop mixed in (that might sound like a bad thing, but listen to the album before making an opinion)

Launch Radio Networks reports: If you didn't get to see Robert Plant and his band the STRANGE SENSATION on their recent North American tour, you can still check them out in a live setting. Plant is selling a four-song live EP the group recorded at a show in Paris on June 9. It has three songs from their album "Mighty Rearranger" ? "Shine It All Around", "Freedom Fries" and "Tin Pan Alley" ? as well as LED ZEPPELIN's "When the Levee Breaks". "Robert Plant and The Strange Sensation Live In Paris" is available on CD or as a digital download, and the proceeds go to Turtle Will, an organization dedicated to helping indigenous peoples in the African nations of Ethiopia, Mali, and Niger.
Plant and company start a run of European festival shows on Friday (July 29) in Wiltshire, England. They return to North America for more shows beginning September 10.
