Thanks for the link. There are little interesting tidbits that weren't in the NY Times article.

I'm kinda tired of those comparisons with Howard Hughes. They're incredibly exagerated. I've watched the movie and I honestly can't see many common points between those two men. I don't know him personally obviously, but I would bet my ass Axl is nowhere near as eccentric as Hughes was. Two very different personalities here. Just because they both have / had trouble handling the pressure that comes with celebrity doesn't make them identical.

The Times (UK) Speak to Splat about GN'R

Splat briefly spoke to Burhan Wazir today, the writer of the new Guns n'roses article which features in todays edition of UK broadsheet, The Times.

Burhan told us that he'd spoken to numerous people whilst compiling his article on Guns n'roses, an investigation which stretches back five years or more.

Burhan mentioned that he had spoken Doug Goldstein and Sanctuary who indicated that the new Guns n'roses album would definitely be out later in 2005, probably around September.

Burhan also informed us that he managed to speak to the very elusive, Buckethead. Unfortunately, Buckethead said that he couldn't speak much about Guns n'roses because he was tied to confidentiality agreement. He did confirm though that he had left Guns n'roses, and that he wasn't sure if he would feature on the new album, 'Chinese Democracy'.

We will be speaking to Burhan again on Monday, so if you have any questions, please post them to the forum.

If you'd like to ask Burhan Wazir a question then please post it at this link.

Buckethead, who has since left the project, was, at one point persuaded to stay on longer after Rose met his demands for a chicken coop to be built in the studio.

Many bits seem identical to the NY times but I think this article is a little less partial.
Shame the critics were so dull for a collage of screams and shrieks.

Two weeks ago, it was the NY Times, this week The Times (City), what Time is the next? What's the Guardian doing?

Why is it?

Cause this article is based on mostly the NY Times article, and I can't find too many things, or to be more accurate, I can't find any interesting info in this comparing to the NYT's. People here like it more than the other just because it gives no information, there is nothing we can talk about and it's much better for them than an article with some meanings.

Well there's always a certain number of people who prefer an ill-meaning article to others.

My grandpa told me they'd read sensationalistic tabloid like The Sun or People covered with Broadsheet like The Times.

The ironic part is, after reading that article it sounds like the Greatest Hits was a "career-saving surprise".
