ive fixed my distortion problem and the distortion for my riffs is amazing now, its just filthy

now however i cant get a tone for shit for my solo's

my sustain sucks, how do u improve sustain on your guitar?HuhHuh?

any idea what distortion is best to use for solo's only? i want a kick ass high pitched, sleazy fuckin tone for my solo's

any ideas? suggestions?

yea... do spider exercises 16 hours a day -  should help on your sustain

seriously though, my noise gate on my effects board goes from 1-40 anything less than 39 and it buzzes like a motherfucker, but on 39 all u can hold a note for is like 3 seconds tops and that sucks

well... I told ya much that i have experienced in that other thread.? I have a feeling that the ones i like will ....? ?i dunnooo? ?Its past 3am

Big Muff - I love it? or? ratt pro? if with some delay.? ?the muff is really subjective depending on the person but for me I can hold a note for days....? think comfortably numb Pink Floyd

i was under the impression in that last thread, u all were giving me pedals for riffing type distortion

myriffing distortion rocks

now its the solo distortion i need help with, my tone is sorta flat and just dead sounding

As I've mentioned, I use a PODxt, and on that, I use JCM800 with a tube screamer, and for the melodys and solos there's a small delay attached as well... I don't solo so much, but it's a nice, warm tone..

Use a fat sound, by using a JCM800 style tone, with about 5 gain.... fatten the sound with an EQ shaped like a sad mouth.... so mid ranges are higher than bass and treble.

This will give you a good sound for solo's and is exactly what Slash does (except with better hardware).

I just use my Lead channel on my Marshall tube amp.  Sounds nice Cheesy
