Even if it comes out here I'm not buying it. It will just be a rehash of what we already know. Absolutely nothing newsworthy can come out until Axl sets a release date. And only then will the ball start rolling.

I bought the magazine yesterday after falling for their claim that there was bound to be something in the article that was new to even GNR diehards... the article is basically 5 or 6 pages of quotes and brief anecdotes from people who were associated with the band throughout the glory years: Tom Zutaut, Nikki Sixx, Tracii Guns, Michelle Young, Vicky Hamilton etc. etc.

The only things in it that were new (for me anyway) were the brief interviews from Duff, Matt and Slash, plus an extended interview with Steven Adler, who were all seemingly recently interviewed by the magazine for the purposes of this feature.

It still makes a good read, but alone it's not worth the ?4 price tag. Good thing there is plenty of other reading in the mag, and also a live compilation DVD included with it!

I'll ask again...?

As a couple of us have been saying, it's mostly a reprint of Spin's 1999 cover story.? Do they credit Spin or Marc Spitz or anything?? Are there any bylines?

I liked it lots - AC/DC riffing and good singing - even if they did go for the old rock cliche of filming the video outside a mansion.

The Ga Ga's was pretty good aswell, but the highlight for me was Zakk Wylde's 'Bleed for me'.

Marc Spitz is credited with the interviews, but I see no mention of Spin magazine.

On a side note, Mick Wall is no longer associated with Classic Rock it appears; the editor is now Sian somebody... forget the surname.

The new Steven Adler interview from this magazine can be seen here.

The main article is the story printed in Spin back in 1999. You can find that in the articles section as well.
