Hey, you caught me in a Coma...

« on: March 11, 2005, 03:08:26 AM »

Hm. I just noticed something while watching the "Estranged" video. The lyrics from "I don't know how you're supposed
to find me lately" to "Said you took everything from me" is muted. I'm surprised I didn't notice earlier. I've never really watched the "Estranged" video much though. If this is a "Dead Horse", I'm sorry. But can anyone tell me what the deal is?

No they're not.. At least not  in my video.. They do come from the left channel only though.. So if you have a mono tv or a broken left channel, it will sound really quiet or not at all.

Yeah it was taken from there. I've read that in an interview somewhere.

I'll be damned. I guess your right. I was watching it on my parents' TV before, and even though the vocals were "muted", the music was coming out of both channels. But when I tried it on my new TV/VCR/DVD player, everything sounded perfect. No wonder I never noticed before. Heh... Sorry...

Did Axl sample something from the Rolling Stones on this song?

It's just a quote.

The same problem with the left speakers happened with me. But hey, you can sing with the band like a mini-karaoke on that.  hihi

That's what I meant.  Did he quote a lyric from one of their songs?

Dunno if it's an intentional quote, or if it was just the words he came up with.

And it's not a rolling stones song - it's Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan.

BOB DYLAN - Like A Rolling Stone

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud

About having to be scrounging for your next meal.
