Johnny Cash - American V
Only listened to the first 6 songs so far. Havent heard a big radio hit like "Hurt" was but this is a more consistent album, so far, than American IV. The Springsteen cover "Further On Up the Road" is fantastic. "If You Could Read My Mind" is also a highlight.
Have you got the others? Really tempted to get all these. That Hurt video is breathtaking and v. moving.
Last album
The Who - Live at Leeds
A golden oldie....

The only other I have is IV. Hurt is easily the stand out track on that CD. V is a more consistent effort start to finish. You wont find a big hit single on this like Hurt was, but you probably wont find yourself skipping past any of the songs either after multiple listens.

Speaking of Mark Lanegan and the Twilight Singers, here's an article of them from today's paper. As you can see it's in Finnish, though.

No English translation somewhere, I suppose?
Nope, but it's a pretty general level article, so you're not really missing that much. I'll translate a few quotes by Lanegan:
"I'm fortunate enough to have been asked to do lots of different projects. It's rewarding, and helps making music still feel fresh and interesting. I've been doing this for so long, that if I just concentrated on one thing, I'd probably get fed up pretty fast."
About the Twilight Singers & Greg Dulli:
"We definitely knew about each other already when I was in Screaming Trees and Greg was in Afgan Whigs, but we didn't collaborate until we'd split from those bands. We both have a unique style of singing, so when we collaborate the result is something interesting."
About Queens of the Stone Age:
"It's over. It's time for us to resume on our own paths. I wasn't originally going to stay in the band anyway, I was just a visitor. And as for Screaming Trees, that era is long gone [laughs]. I'm proud of the music we created, but I'm totally satisfied in seeing the band rest in peace."
