Instead of writing to the NY Times and complaining as suggested.... I would be more interested in writing to Merck and having him back up the statement about allowing an reporter listen to the album and write about the process.

Its simple: Call up Del James and have him spend time listening to the album and learn about the process. I would be very interetsed in his thoughts....You could publish it in some magizine.....and it would be some sort of olive branch to the faithful GnR fans.

Some draft this up and send it to Merck.

I think we can find more reliable guys to write the article than James.

Del is about the most credible journalist to ever interview Axl, or write an article on gnr.

You're all crazy. The best response is to release the album! Screw private listening sessions. Rolling Stone had one of those in 2000 and then look where we are now.

If you're asking for his e-mail address, it won't be posted here unless he posts it himself.

From his page on the Sanctuary pagem it says to email his assistant, Tina Chang.?
That's probably your best bet.

Edit: E-mail address removed. I'm not so sure Tina wants her work e-mail address posted on a message board. /jarmo

I think its great that Axl has a manager who is willing to stand up to the New York Times.  That being said - i do agree with some of you that the best thing to silence all the critics will be to release the album and just go out and kick some serious Rock N Roll Ass.

I'm pretty sure that Del James has already heard the album since he is one of Axl's best friends. He was on tour with them in 2002 and he was at all the shows.

I am a journalist and I tried to contact Merck through Tina Chang. No answer in a week...
I was trying to write some article as a freelancer for a brazilian website... But that's cool, I don't work for NY Times or anything and I don't think they trusted me enough for even read my email.  Tongue

am I the only one that felt merck would have been willing to talk to axl and possibly get him to do a exclusive about what was going on if the reporter didn't jump the gun?
I picture kurt loder gettinga sit down with axl.. Hope that happens one of these days.. It's so surreal that I will pass ouyt if cd ever comes out..

I don't think you will ever find anyone more reliable than Del to interview Axl!!! Kurt is great, don't get me wrong. But Del isn't going to screw his friend!!

Maybe so, but he'd be farther up the line to get an interview with Mr. Rose than any of the other guys mentioned.

no1 will be getting an interview with Axl or the band about CD and this whole ride until the album is out and Axl is ready to do some promotion and speak his mind.
