Launch Radio Networks reports: VELVET REVOLVER will kick off their spring North American tour, dubbed the Electric Wonderland Show, in late March. But if it was up to singer Scott Weiland, the band would probably be in the studio working on their second album instead ? if only to have some new songs to play live. "We have one album worth of original material that we play, and to keep things fresh, we are constantly learning other people's material ? covers of classic songs that we really admire, influences to us," he said. "But at some point, that's gonna get old. It's actually starting to get old. So we're really starting to get eager to put out a new record."
VELVET REVOLVER's tour begins on March 22 in Montreal, Canada, with dates scheduled through May 25 in Miami, Florida.
HOOBASTANK will serve as the opening act on the trek's West Coast leg. A warm-up band for the tour's East Coast shows has not been announced yet.

Isn't it Three Days Grace?
Anyways, nothing's stopping them from playing one or two new songs live, but I see where Scott's coming from. They've played several shows in most cities, and there's nothing interesting about their setlist.

It would be cool to see a couple of new tracks played live and I didn't think Scott would be that eager already to get back into the studio

Interesting. It's getting old, but still they play the same sets night after night.
They don't even do the cover songs every night.

Well, if you went to a Stones gig, and they didn't play any of their hits, or saw Sabbath at Ozzfest and they only played songs from the Ronnie James Dio era, you'd be pretty pissed off, right? VR only have 13 songs (minus covers), and they have to play Slither, Set Me Free and Fall to Pieces (and now Dirty Little Thing as well, I suppose). Every band has their opener - for GN'R (if I remember), it was Rocket Queen or Nightrain, for VR it's STB. Then there's fan favourites like Do It for the Kids and Big Machine. Not really room for much flexibility, whereas GN'R, for example, had around 50 songs plus covers, solos etc to choose from on the Illusion World Tour.

Their sets seemed more varied when they played shorter sets than they are now.
I don't know what happened to playing "Spectacle" now and then like they used to.
