Slash would probably be all for a reunion somewhere down the line, but something tells me that he's more than happy with Velvet Revolver in the meantime.

What kind of "reunion message" did Slash send to Axl, when Duff and Slash sued Axl?

Well that's business Jarmo.
Gilby sued Axl and they talked and sang together since...
I think Axl can identify with the 'each for their own' attitude that Slash & Duff are showing through the lawsuit, Axl has lived a lot of his GnR life that way.

Again, I do not understand why people bring a 'personal' dimension into this lawsuit. People rarely risk millions of dollars in legal fees to 'get on an old band mates nerves'. They have obviously reviewed the contractual fallout from the break up of the old band and feel they have a legit case to be heard. If they don't, they will loose and probably have to pay the legal fees for both sides i.e. millions of dollars. To trivialize this as a personal vendetta is just over simplifying the issue and being somewhat unfair to Slash & Duff.

I think Gilby sued GN'R, not just Axl.

I think that when former friends sue you, you won't start liking them more than you did before the lawsuit.

Cool quote...But i think Slash dosent hold huge grudges like Axl..I dont remember Slash trashing any of the members like Axl did...

Yeah Slash and Duff have both been very professional about that whole Axl thing since the break up

you're so full of shit your eyes are brown..  what about halloween last year?  wtf was that?  and slash makes comments all the time slagging off axl in interviews, even if its subtle..    $lash is a major cock, make no mistake.

and the difference between what $lash/duff says and what very little axl has ever said is, what axl says is the truth  smoking

Since GN'R fired him, not Axl cause he was contracted to the band, not the lead singer. But this was Axl's decision.

In my opinion, there's still a little difference in suing GN'R and suing Axl.

Steven sued GN'R too (when Slash was in the band). That didn't stop Slash from playing with Steven.

Oh, maybe that was also Axl's fault....

I think the situation is different. Steven and Gilby had to sue GN'R for having been fired. Slash and Duff can't sue GN'R for using the name or nixing movie opportunities - they have to sue Axl. They can't sue GN'R for their '2 GN'Rs at the same time, Axl left the band' thing... As Intercourse said I can't imagine them suing Axl and risking the loss of millions for only the pleasure of making Axl angry  no

BTW years ago Axl sued Slash for using 'GN'R songs' for his first Snakepit record, didn't he?

That's what I'm saying, suing the band like Gilby and Steven did is a bit different than suing Axl (what Duff and Slash did).

Suing a person is more personal than suing a company.

So, maybe Axl didn't take Gilby's lawsuit as personal as he might take the current one from his former band members.

I'm just getting tired of these reunion threads. If it happens, it happens. It's not gonna be 1987 all over again even if it does happen one day.

Yes, but I say that they couldn't have chosen a better way (or even other way) to get back their say and rights over the GN'R cathalogue. I don't see it as a personal attack, they sued the only person/company they could - and it was a person, Axl.

suing GNR now a days is suing Axl . Axl is GNR on legal paper now, he takes full responsibility for all the bands activities.

in response to what you have said, taking royalties or denying potential earnings from former band mates is a pretty personal offence  too (if it's true).  Let the law decide who is wrong here.

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #73 on: March 03, 2005, 07:49:53 PM »

One day, when we are all over 60 and enjoying our retirement, we will all belong to an Assisted Living facility group night out and on the bill will be this:

Guns n' Roses reunited.

Come and see what no one thought would ever happen. ?

So, we will all sign up (similar to a Grayline Sightseeing bus) charted tour to see the show. ?We will all have a section near the disabled area and will rock out in our wheelchairs.

Axl's braids will be gray, but he'll still move and sing like a motherfucker
Slash's hair will be white (and he have found his stolen top hat) and will pump us with guitar solos
Izzy will weigh 300 pounds
Steven will be the normal one since he was the most fucked up one during their prime so he will come full circle
Duff will use only non verbal communication since he doesn't have much of a memory and relies on Matt fill him in on what happened during their prime.

They will play everything off of AFD, UYI 1 and 2, TSI, CD and VR, and few Slash guitar solos off of Snakepit.

Buckethead will open for them? hihi

The show will kick major ass.

Don't worry about the price of the tickets either because we will all be able to have AARP/Senior Citizen discounted tickets ok

Don't say never because you just never know how or what will happen in a lifetime.

Who's with me? Tongue

Dude Im with ya but I hope they have a huge sound system because I will probably be hard of hearing from listening to that rebel rock music in my younger days lol! "Wow look at those girls boobies someone pass me some viagra"

Back to the topic.

Does this topic remind anyone of High School drama its all what he said vs. what he says. Axl will say what Axl wants his people to believe and Slash will say what he wants his people to believe. What VR is doing is good decent music but its not up to par at what Slash,Duff,Matt can really acomplish they are still missing 2 pieces to there puzzle. Axl and Izzy! Music now has to be the worst it has been in a long time, from the terrible rap music all over the radio to the so called new rock music being played on radio 75% of it is crap. Music needs a change and I hope it can be Chinese Democracy but we havent seen any proof that CD is going to really happen. (Axl I still have faith) In the mean time I can just hope to one day that Axl and the rest of the? guys can shake hands and be a band once again, or at least be friends again. We all know these guys can make some great kick ass fuck you music. One thing is for sure your closest friends you have\had in your life hold a special place in your heart and bad blood can one day be forgiven.

Unbelievable.
These guys write the music you love and you assume the worst of them every time.
Izzy, Duff, Slash on one side, Axl on the other. Go figure.

Yup.

Who else were they to sue? Tommy Stinson and Fortus? Any current player Axl has with him these days?

« Reply #79 on: March 06, 2005, 12:41:08 AM »

Dophin,  That was so funny. I've been telling my kids that when I'm old and in the home and phase out, to just turn up my music. Every Time I hear Axl on the radio I still smile.
I think that the guys should just secretly get together and reintroduce themselves and see if they can get along now that they are old enough to not be as narrow-minded.
Since they are sober and can hear the shear awesomeness of the sounds they make. Maybe they can again unite and play for the greater good - the music. That is why they joined in the first place but they were young, naive, super star minded and wasted.
They have now lived, loved and fucked up. Haven't we all? You just grow up, learn from your mistakes and try again.  If nothing else just blame it on the drugs, smile and deny it all. Ha  Ha.
If bigger bands have broken up and reunited then GnR can to.
