WTF happened to Blackmore? That midevil shit he's doing now is fucking awful. The last several DP albums with Morse on guitar have been pretty good.

As for Iommi, his solo stuff rocks. Check out his '96 and '04 albums.

He kind of lost it towards the end. I remember a DP concert in which he throws a glass of water at the cameraman (for some reason) and walks off the stage.

i can't believe that some people think Deep purple is better than Black Sabbath no Are you fucking mad Roll Eyes Sabbath could buy and sell them, no offence, i like both bands very much, Smoke on the Water one of the best songs ever written but Iron man and Paranoid and Children of the grave are just amazing in the bass and guitar playing. I love that opening bass line to Children of the grave headbanger Awesome

Its Deep Purple for me.

I wish Blackmore would go back into playing rock, I'm not really digging the thing he's doing with Blackmores Night right now.

Ian Blackmore

Ritchie  Cheesy

I would have to say Sabbath, though I don't own much of their stuff (I will though). Smoke On The Water is about as far as my Deep Purple song knowledge goes.

BTW, I thought Born Again was supposed to be awful??

It's not good, but it's not awful. Zero the Hero is a great song, and it's what GnR ripped off to make Paradise City. Wink

Since "Zero the Hero" is such an obscure song, I doubt GN'R ripped them off. I love Born Again. It's probably in my top five for Sabbath.

Smoke On The Water is about as far as my Deep Purple song knowledge goes.

You should check out some of their other material if you think you might like them, even though Smoke on the Water is by far their most well known song they have songs that are 10 times better.
