In the meantime, I'd like to start a rumor, if you don't mind...

Did you know that Axl puts spanish flavored bulgar wheat in his burrito?    hihi

yikes. we are seriously regressing with these newslets. Tommy and Brain's statements seem to back each other up, namely that some parts of the album are not done. This is very discouraging. I don't think I keep myself away from the dark side for another year. nervous

well EVA me being the pessimist i took the "they" comment differently than what u did

i thought "is he still in the band"? that was my first reaction

he said "they" are 95 percent done with it

he didnt say they are finishing the 5 percent

so maybe his grammar isnt very good but it sounded like he wasnt still in the band.

I think this might be the year.  The past rumors have all been based on speculation and uncited sources, and all of them were started by people who aren't in the band.  Tommy, Brain and Dizzy have all stated recently that the album is basically done and that there are only a few finishing touches left.  That's straight from the band members.  None of the previous rumors came from the people making the music.  Hopefully the album will be out in the next 6 months  beer

Well, at any rate the title of the tread pretty much sums up the relevant part of the article.

ok so the album is NOT finished...right?
excuse me but 5% in the GN'R world seems enormous to me....
another thing: who is "they"? brain and also tommy use the word "they" when they talk about GN'R, "us" would be more normal don't you think?

10% ='s about 1 year so 5% ='s about 6 months. It's been over 10 years, so let's just say that 5% =' about 5 months, or 4 months for good measure as the interview is probably some weeks old   Grin

...also, he probably said 5% as a figure of speech, it could really be 3% to go  Grin - cover art, that sort of thing  ok

Thank's for the scan!!!.

I also guess this interview was done some time ago, I really think tommy has more knowledge on the real status of C.D.

April-july: this is the time when C.D. will be released. beer

Lol - i'd be annoyed, but none of the 'members' have any idea, infact i am pretty sure they have less idea than we have, we've probably heard more of the music too hihi

I just wish they would shut up - Axl's no news is better than Dizzy or Tommy or Brian's speaking out of their arse - why don't they just say they don't know or atleast remain consistent, i.e either its finished or its not.

im already looking to Nov 2005

no way it will be out b4 then.

u have to deliver the finished cd to the label 3 months before release

its at 95 percent so the earliest i could imagine it getting all the way through is march early april

3 months would be a july release which is possible

but 5 percent in axl's time could be forever

i do think it will be this year

but like ive said in countless other threads

i also thought the same in 2002,2003 and 2004

so who knows?

The more things change...

With  new Queens of the stone age, Filter, Jerry Cantrell and Nine inch nails albums, 2005 will be a great year for rock... It would be one of the best of all times if...well, you know...

I noticed he says 'they' when he says 'they're pretty much 95% done with it' ...
and notice he says 'we' when he says "what we've done with it is awesome'....

seems he uses 'they' cuz he is not involved in the wrapping up process of the CD...
coud be referencing they as in Axl (as the producer) and whoever else is actually in the studio for the mixing/mastering

the band is not 'they'... the band is 'we'... as in when the 'we' recorded the music for the album   ok

anyway...  i would not take 95% literally... its another way of saying 'almost' IMO.

I agree, this was the first thing that came to my mind. This would make sense logically, and would match what Tommy said. And we have to trust what Tommy says, to say he knows nothing is ridiculous. Maybe he has said soon in the past and it has taken longer than he expected. All I know is that a year or two back no band member said anything about it being done, or that it was coming soon.

Oh and as for new music, check the underground. These days you have to find the music yourself, due to the way the major record labels are running things at the moment..

cheers gypsy!

maybe he says them because his part are done, maybe he feels like he's a working musician or a hired gun and that it's not really his thing this GN'R project, maybe he lnows he'll be on the album, but won't tour with GN'R again so in that way he's done with gn'r, could be that since it's not his decisions to make, he won't call it his band... lets say the album flopps, at least he can say, well it wasn't really my thing, maybe he's afraid of that...

5% could be a beer, or a whine cooler  beer
