This is killing me. How about a release first. I rather have album first, Axl better deliver before my ass hits anymore of his concerts. Sorry Tommy, that's what the fans deserve. AXL KNOWS IT

you deserve an album? since when do we DESERVE anything? You really need to get your head out the clouds dude, we are not owed anything. We dont deserve anything.  ok

Actually,

Axl has promised the fans a new album for ten years

He does owe us something

We don't deserve anything? After ten years of faithful support i'd say we do - u forget, we are Axl's boss - not the record label, we're the one's that buy the stuff, we keep him off the streets, we paid for his mansion and his cars.

Without the fans an artist is nothing, the good bands realise that. I don't know if Axl does, but without us he'd still be doing drugs in LA's slums

No, you have allready gotten what you have paid for. You bought all the albums and you got something for your money. I could understand if say, you allready gave Axl money for CD, but you haven't. So therefore he don't owe us anything. If he decided tomorrow to retire, then the only people he owes is GEFFEN.

It wouldn't make any sense to mix a track as long as it's not fully recorded, that's for sure. But mixing can take a loooong time, especially with the recording process that has been described before.

"They're finishing up the mixing right now."

Finishing the mixing. So does that meen mastering takes place afterwards? And if so...roughly how long does that take? Bare in mind this is in Axl-time...therefore add 6 months! hihi

How can you guys possibly be legitimately talking tour?  Do you folks ever take a step out and objectively consider what you're saying?  Last year, Tommy said they'd be touring right after the new year.  Now it's summer..Let's have 35 pages of potential venues...GO!

He never said something about booking dates before.

"I understand there's probably some European dates booked in the summer."

Why the hell they would plan to book an European summer tour if they couldn't be ready by that time?

Honestly, who really does know what Tommy is referring to when he says, "mixing". This could just as well mean mixing in surround for all we know. The initial stereo mix could very well be done, but perhaps Axl is into some 5.1 shit. Just a thought...

It's easy to criticize, but unless you are in Tommy's position where you are being asked 20 times a day for updates on Guns n'roses, then it's hard to comment.

As Jarmo will tell you, Tommy is a very cool individual and I think he does well to cope with all the gnr questions that are thrown at him considering that it's an ever changing situation, as you should appreciate by now being hardcore gnr fans  Wink yes ok  So, he can't always be up to speed on what is happening at any particular point in time and you do know that!

The new Guns n'roses album will feature the most modern sound available at this point in time, and even I do not know what that is. I'm still getting over, emotionally speaking, of the disappearance of 78rpm vinyl records.  hihi

I think they're working on getting the album to sound right for all those people who still listen to music on 8-track.  hihi

Out of the Box: Where are the... Are the tracks pretty much done and they're just trying to find a date to release or there're a few more things to do?
Tommy Stinson: The artwork, all those little things like that, getting all the, you know... The particulars, the little bits done...

Out of the Box: Right
Tommy Stinson: ... so they can actually get a release date and put it out.

Out of the Box: So the music is done?
Tommy Stinson: The music's done!

They're finishing up the mixing right now. Sorting out what songs are going on it and artwork and shit

So the music's been done for a long time today, but two weeks ago they were still mixing it and deciding what to put on the album? Is two weeks 'a long time'? hihi

I wouldn't worry.

If and when either happens, the album (or at least an offical announcement) will precede any further live shows.

he implies that they have some european dates booked for the summer.

personally i think this is one of the most definitive comments we've heard from any of the band members.

it gives me a good feeling about things.  ok
