DEBBY RAO: What about your early days with GNR? Did you go to allot of parties back then?
DIZZY REED: When I first joined GNR, they were really big. We were flying around on a jet. There was no time for parties, strictly business. Allot of people think that when you are a Rock Star that it is all fun, but I am a musician too, and I know how hard it is to get to where you want to be. it is allot of work. It does take allot of work and discipline. Ya know most rock stars are their own boss and it is easy to goof off. But we want to have fun too, That is why most guys become musicians, cuz they didn't want to go to work in the morning. We have fun in Hookers 'N' Blow, that is what we do really.
DEBBY RAO: You are like the ultimate party band in 2005. Van Halen use to be called that, now Hookers 'N' Blow have earned that title.
DIZZY REED: Cool! Now if we could only play Madison Square Garden like Van Halen!
DEBBY RAO: Now any news on the GNR record. Do you think it will surpass 'Appetite For Destruction' and 'Use Your Illusion?' Does it have a more modern sound?
DIZZY REED: Well it is definitely more modern. Who knows? Only time will tell. Not much news on that.

If Dizzy would talk less about Hookers and Blow and more about GNR, I might actually consider him a member of GNR.

To be fair he's promoting the band that he's touring with. He's a professional and he's doing interviews on behalf of hookers and blow to try and promote them. The fact that he answers any questions on guns is a bonus.
When gn'r start up dizzy will do interviews and they'll be 100% on gn'r, but untill then he has other interests.

"not much news on that"
haha...at least he's being honest, rather than saying some crap like:? "it'll be out next month"...better for him to just say he doesn't know than provide false info.? by the way, that interview happened a couple of weeks ago - between Jan 10 and Jan 16...because he mentions the Denver Broncos losing in the playoffs "last week"...they lost on Jan 9th...so this interview happened before the sanctuary deal...

I dont know how to take that are you agreeing with me, or is there a hint of sarcasm there dude? If you are being sarcastic then in answer to your question. Yes I am still happy, I can only say what I believe and that is that I think we are gonna get the announcement and the album very soon! If you were not being sarcastic and you were agreeing with me then once again! Yes I'm happy thanks!

It's really weird how the negative people jump all over this kinda of thread to make fun... You know, if Tommy said something good, "it's not gonna happen, he don't know shit". But if Dizzy says "not much news on that", the whole GNR thing is a joke.
C'mon, what the hell he said that we don't know? He's just tired of questions like this, he's trying to promote his band. That's it. Do you really think he would say "hey, fuck my project, I'll answer any GNR questions for you just to make some people on the forums happy". 2NaFish is right, the GNR questions are just a bonus. When he wants, he gives something more. But he don't need to do that everytime.
Does this article sounds too negative for you? Cool... Do you HAVE to make fun about this just to say "I told you"? Give me a break!

I never thought GNR needed a full-time keyboarder. Not in the early 90's and not now. But let's stick to the topic.

"not much news on that" can mean anything... It can mean he cant share any news, that there isnt anything new that we have not heard, that it has been done but he isnt going to share anything, or that he simply has not been obsessing about it like a lot of people here to the point where he cares to discuss the minutae of it all. Obviously he could have said, well Axl did/will get a new pub deal etc... But he didnt... does that mean that was not news? (apparently AP thought so)... Anyway, what is the point of reading into those 5 words

Dizzy didn?t talk about CD. That?s all.
A few of the posts here rather belong on the frustration thread.

Well, supposedly this other interview happend very recently and here's what he had to say:
Reed is coy when it comes to GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited new album, "Chinese Democracy", saying only, "I haven't heard anything" when it comes to a possible release date. Until then, he'll continue with his own band, HOLLYWOOD BULLDOZER, which is entering its second year of playing the songs its members grew up with.
http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/news/shownews.php?newsid=1291
either:
- dizzy doesn't know shit (as usual)
- it's the calm before the storm and they aren't going to give anything away before a big announcement. Remember, Axl seems to love surprises.
- axl went back into a cave
My point is, everything that has been said recently is pretty vague and can be interpreted several different ways. Something official would be nice.

Dizzy Says He Will Continue To Support Axl Rose
In a brand new interview published today (Feb. 3), GUNS N' ROSES keyboardist Dizzy Reed explains to Greenwich Time why he has stuck by Axl Rose through an aborted tour, numerous lineup changes and an album that is more than 10 years in the making.
"I want to see this thing through," Reed says. "I'm going to support him, he gave me my start, and I really want to see this happen. I believe in what we're doing."
"The main purpose of this band is to go out and have a good time, and make sure everyone there has a good time," Reed says. "Playing with GUNS N' ROSES in front of all those people, there's an incredible amount of pressure."
Reed's band is made up of guitarist Scotty Griffin, singer/guitarist Matt Starr, bassist Tsuzumi Okai and drummer Troy Patrick Farrell. Hitting the road is a way for them to be to be received in a way that rarely happens in Los Angeles.
"When you do stuff in Hollywood, it's not cool to be into something or show you're having a good time," he says. "When you leave Los Angeles and get into other places, people appreciate music more. It's always been that way. (When) that was the place to be and nobody would cheer for the band. Everyone would stand there with their arms crossed."
Dizzy says that knew long before he joined that GUNS N' ROSES was an extraordinary group.
"I saw great stage presence and characters that were larger than life," he says. "They had good songs, too, but (most) couldn't tell because they were the loudest band in town. There was a certain dark energy. Being around them, I knew they were real."
hope this was the right place to post that
