+ there's other stuff he done b4 gnr? Wink

Like his stunning contributions to Nsync!
ok, so what? didn't slash play for Blackstreet in the mid 90's, wich was also a "boys band"? does it hurt his talent and his? reputation? I don't think so. People are free to do what they want.

Slash's legacy was already cemented when he played for that group you mention, it's not the same thing.

I was just wondering about how much of fortus' material norway was rocking to before he joined GNR, since it's all so good.

And yeah, people are free to do what they want. (like robin and dressing goth; I know how much you love that ok)

No, it wasnt.

Backstreet is not Backstreet Boys. And the difference between Slash's guest appearances and Fortus's session works has been discussed before.

http://s13.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=061T0BLK04ZM22A4U8JTG1DDX2

it's beauteful, when the hard parts starts after axl's 2 verses and the end b4 axl sings again
and then right b4 the buckethead solo begins...

i like it so much, great tone (some fucks) and sound, i really like this guitarwork? ok

 ok My thoughts exactly,

Its just hilarious the attitudes u find on this board, it was the same with Buckethead, 'we love Buckethead' - Buckethead leaves 'yeah, well he was never as good as Slash anyway' hihi

I dare say Fortus is fantastic but judging this from Guns N' Roses covers is laughable - i have a mate that who can play the shite out of sweet child o'mine on guitar and ''rock out'' on stage - is he good enough for Guns N' Roses?

Not sure about u, lot but i judge a good guitarist from material he personally wrote - not stuff he covers. Claiming he's good enough for the band because he's got 'the look' and moves on stage is aburd - if Axl dressed in Hawian shirts and never moved on stage would he no longer be good enough for GNR???

Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

The best version of Madagascar Fortus ever did was during the VMA'02: he was the highlight of the band (besides Axl of course) that night.

Whatever

There are hundreds of musicians out there that can play GNR songs and improvise a bit on them, doesn't mean there good guitarists or will be a hit for GNR - by your criteria any vaguely competant guitarist who moves on stage would fit into GNR. When he manages a bit part role on the album and is then fired ur going to look quite a fool, why not wait till he's done something first?

U claim Fortus is a gift from God because he can play GNR songs well (which any competant guitarists could do - especially a professional guitarist) and because he moves on stage - any physically fit human being can perform that role

U twit,

There is not enough material to like or dislike him, thats the point Roll Eyes U love him because of one solo - ffs, i challenge even the most average guitarist not to be able to pull of one good solo - GNR material is not that difficult to learn, Fortus is after all a professional - the guy from Nickelback could do GNR solos hihi

What the fuck is this?  Songwriting and guitar playing are totally different things.  It's a bit stupid to base one on the other:  Izzy's a much better songwriter than Slash, but Slash is a better player.  You sayin' Slash is shit cos he can't write songs without help?

Let's take another example.  Cobain's a great songwriter, but his guitar playing isn't technically very difficult.  Jeff Beck is the world's greatest living guitarist, but he needs other people to write for him and provide tracks which he can play over.  Playing guitar and writing songs are totally different, and its absolute crap to judge one by the other.

My informed decision about music says that Music is for everyone.  smoking

Being yet to have an opinion of Richard?s guitar sounds I?d rather not be a dick who spoils the fun of fellow fans with quick ears.
