seems he is influenced by the oldschool way and still puttin his own personl touch to it,
sounds sometimes a lil' bluesy and sometimes really riffing, descent style  Cool

what do you think of it, the playin and how good it merges (live so far) with gunsnroses?

Please,

What are u basing this on? A handful of live shows when he played parts written by other people?

Is that really enough to make a judgement on?

Some of u are so obsessed with the band if Celion Dion was put on guitar you'd be claiming she was the best thing ever - why don't u wait untill u've actually heard what he can do?

Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« Reply #5 on: January 25, 2005, 06:11:07 AM »

I already said it lots of times: Richard Fortus is the best new guitarist of Guns N' Roses. He perfectly fits in GN'R. I love his sound (good old school Rock sound), his playing, his attitude, his stage presence and his style. I would have loved to see him play with Slash in the old band. Imagine:
Slash: lead guitar
Fortus: rythm guitar
Wow...what a duet? Shocked

Now THAT would definitly create a huge buzz. They'd get free publicity like no one has ever had.   hihi

About Fortus, He has this classic Rock n' Roll vibe, and that's also why he is so appreciated.

I too love his sound on "Think about you"

That is one of the most under rated songs.. The new band kills that fucking song... It sounds alot better than the original ..

Come on Izzy is Izzy, he was extremely important and never forget he wrote "think about you". It's him? Wink
Lots of you underrate Izzy, mainly because he didn't have the same explosive mediatic coverage that Axl and Slash had...but does it hurt his talent? certainely not. Izzy was the guy who worked in shadow. Never forget that.
Now to come back to Mr Fortus, I think he can become a very mediatic player of his own if he is able to write great rythmic stuff on "Chinese Democracy". This is the point everybody is standing for about him. Is he able to write killer rythm guitar riff like izzy? We will see it on the album. Cool

Here is his guitar solo: http://www.newgnr.com/dloads/shortclips/fortusthinkabout.wmv
He's got the right attitude? peace

ok, so what? didn't slash play for Blackstreet in the mid 90's, wich was also a "boys band"? does it hurt his talent and his  reputation? I don't think so. People are free to do what they want.
