I am just throwing a idea here that we should do a best guitarist survivor rounds that would be cool so hopefully it will get started gotta have...

We should run it as the frontman survivor worked: decades and guitarists.

To group them by decades isn't exactly going to help you...

THey should be grouped by style, like:
-- virtuosos
-- rock
-- metal
-- punk
-- etc

Otherwise it will turn into a clash of musical preferences...where people get compared to each other who are doing totally different things.

Can't say that I totally disagree with you on that one... It's probably a nice way for some people to get their post-count up fast. edit: but every time I see the word guitarist appear I can't help but respond ?

Because it's fun and people like to know the others' opinion and above all they want their favourites to win. These survivors make the board alive since almost the whole general discussion is Dead Horse.

This has to be done in genres or style.  A list of genres:

Jazz
Funk
Classical
Country
Spanish
Punk
Soft Rock
Hard Rock
Metal
Virtuoso (I'm think Malmsteen, Vai, Buckethead, John 5's solo album, stuff like that)

Maybe you could have five in each with voting running weekly.  Each week vote for someone to come off all the lists.  Who knows.  I for one am not prepared to put in the time to do it!
