You're In The Jungle Toronto,You're Gonna Dieee

« on: January 14, 2005, 06:04:05 PM »

VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash has told Rolling Stone magazine that the group are planning to get cracking on their second record in the fall.

"As soon as we get off the road, we want to start getting the next record done and get it out," he said. "We don't want to lose momentum."

The band already have plenty of material to follow up their 2004 chart-topping debut, "Contraband". "We've got tapes and tapes of stuff that we've been writing at soundcheck," Slash said. "There should be more than an album's worth of material. And then there's all the stuff we wrote before we did the first record that we never really touched."

Slash also thinks that, with the orientation phase of the band over, their sophomore effort should come together more easily. "When we did this first record, it was like a bunch of kids in a sandbox all thrown in at one time," he said. "Now we've managed to play together as a band, grow as a band and get to know each other as a band."

Holy shit

i think Contraband was a great record, especially considering how quick they did it.

the 2nd record will be a nice progression from there i think.

im excited as fuck about another VR record.

Great to hear, I already can't wait for it. I wonder when it will be out? I am thinking by next summer..Spring would be better!! I wish it was like the 70's when bands pumped out an album every year..

in  a way i wish they'd release it as soon as possible

but yet again i want them to take their time so some more singles can come off CB

there are 2 or 3 more that need to be released

so i hope they release those singles while they record and then kick ass with the new record.

I agree D. Definitely a couple of more songs need to be released as singles.

And hearing about the second album coming out as soon as this Fall is awesome!

I'm with D. I wish they could release it as soon as possible, but yet I'd like to hear another single or two from Contrabands.  Tongue I always felt the second album would be better since they will have had more time to gel and write about their experiences as a band.

Yeah that sounds really good.  I hope the other band members dont let scott cut the song up and shorten the solos with pro tools.  As much as I like contraband, when hearing of the sound of the musicians in the demos especially slash, although very raw sounding, the sound was still incredible, it made me sick to know it was cut out, maybe due to making it in a radio song format, but none the less, now that they have more artistic freedom after being so popular right now, they can be more free in doing what ever in the hell they want.

VRII will.

I love their style: rock and kick ass.

If you like it you like it.

If not, then listen to something else.

How it should be.

Simple and uncomplicated.

I bet we hear VR's second album before you know who's.  VR's second album should be even better than Contraband.  It is nice to see artists commited to recording rock in a timely fashion.
