The 50's neck is wider. The 60's neck is narrower.
Slash loves the 59 model Les Paul Standard. It was the first year to have the 60's neck I believe.

If so, how is it? Is it a good little amp for home use?

i love it
its the best guitar ive ever owned....i've had like 6 or 7 dif ones...its heavy though
not sure if its a plain or a plus top
I played it with a randall amp...sounded pretty sweet to me, but my top 3 amp choices were Marshall, Roland and Line6

oh cool thanks,
I was wondering 'cause I was lookin for a 30w marshall and /or a 30 watts Randall, in this case, the randall had more features and it seems to be a bit better than the marshall. I was looking for a $ 200-$300 guitar amp. I cant afford more than that.

dont buy an Epi...there are lower priced Gibson models, u dont have to get the standard, classic or custom. the Epi's dont stay in tune and the pickups are muddy and not clear. do yourself a favor and get the real thing!

It's the same as I mine. Bought it a couple of weeks ago and I'm loving it, best guitar I ever had (although I never really had a good guitar).
But I removed this white thing (shield? I dunno the english name)...

Pickguard.
It's funny watching the Paris 92 vid with Slash and Joe Perry. Perry has his while Slash doesn't.

Yeah, the pickguard. I don't like it, it bothers me and I never got used to it....
Also, the guitar looks way better without it.

when is the last time you played an epiphone?
The pickups are not as muddy as some people make out ... but of course they're muddy compared to Gibson or SD pickups ... jeez, you get what you pay for... I think the biggest thing for me about my Epi was that the pickups weren't the hottest. But I sold my old Seymour Duncan 59 and JB pickups to my mate who threw them into his Epi and it sounds great. Sure, my Gibson is nicer to play and rocks harder in many ways, but the Epi still rules a lot ... I don't think I'd ever go back to mid range guitar land, but ... for people who can't justify or simply don't have that kind of cash, a Gibson isn't possible. So Epi stands in as a great replacement.
That said, I have indeed heard a lot of good things about Orville guitars too ...

I got a slash sig les paul classic, the snakepit one, a few years ago. It was used, and had some marks on the back from where the previous owner's belt buckle scratched it, but thats on the side nobody sees. Its the epiphone version, I got it for $250, and its got great tone
