I'm not saying he is gonna show but I would say it has a better chance then the last three rumored super bowls.  #1. Paul McCartney wasnt at any of theses super bowls and he is the entertainment this time round.  #2. CD is prob as close to being finished as it ever has and #3. With RoBIN having nothing to do with NIN its a very positive sign that something is about to happen. I dont think Mr. FINCK wants to sit around for another two years he could of had the NIN position so he didnt pass it up for nothing.

Yes, Axl was at the super bowl a couple of years ago, but that might have had more to do with the Raiders being in it than anything else. Maybe not, but he was wearing that jersey for a while. On a side topic, you know how many times they play the beginning licks of WTTJ during a game. I hear it all the time, usually at kickoffs or when they really want to pump the crowd up. I wonder, did they play it at all that game?

yeah... football was on all weekend at my house and i heard it quite a bit - and that was playoffs
so i suppose chances are it'll be played at some point during the superbowl

A five,ten,twenty minute standing ovation will take place. The football players to overcome with emotion forfeit the game declaring W.Axl Rose the only champion. Slash and Duff take to the stage and annouce the break up on VR, Liberals and conseratives world wide embrace. And Axl utters those three little words you love to here...... Its sooo true.. its sooo amusing the way some people will watch the superbowl and think its just a big cover to have a guns n roses concert....  but it is all just a big secret and they will be suprised!!!!

Do you REALLY for one minute think that the NFL would let Axl Rose play at the half time??   but its ok... Watch the superbowl and pray real hard that a guns n roses concert is going to break out at the halftime...

All of the "Gnr to surprise appear here" rumors are ridiculous, but this one takes the cake.
Why on earth would Paul McCartney want Axl Rose to share the stage with him at
the Super Bowl? I'm not a big beatles fan, (and I personally think McCartney doing
the super bowl is a safe, knee jerk reaction from last years J. Jackson thing), but
the NFL and the promoters of this event are advertising it as Paul McCartney,
and I can't think of anything more strange than having Axl appear (and/or all of Guns N Roses). It's obviously not even a rock n roll themed halftime show.
A lot of us on this board assume that the entire world thinks Axl has a lot more "celebrity appeal" than he actually does, and that any huge event would be a perfect platform for
GnR to re-emerge. When you're pretty much out of the public eye for 10 years (sans a short tour and some legal and psychosis issues) he's not exactly a media darling right now,
and I hardly think the NFL would pursue GnR as a part of this performance.
I would personally love to GnR to perform anywhere, including the SuperBowl, but
let's please use some common sense and stop trying to get peoples hopes up.
