February is out of the question. Now what?

Well it's now pretty obvious that February won't be the month CD will see the light of day. Otherwise we would have heard something by now. Maybe an announcement will be made, but that's it. Even GNR-online now says April instead of February.

What's going on? First hints at November, then February, now it's April. And even the bandmembers don't seem to have a clue. I'm really starting to wonder what's holding them up. Could it be the band-name afterall? That Slash and Duff are holding it back? Or that the new guitarist has to be found first? Or maybe the album isn't even finished? Axl died?

I still think that GNR being so silent these days means there are things to come, but when? And what is going to come? What do you guys think? We gotta figure it out this time for real. We should start a petition for Axl to make a statement, break into the studio, bomb the record company with e-mail phone calls etc. untill they get so sick of it that they force Axl to make a statement. We should do something!

Well, I guess the next opportunity for some kind of information would be either Dizzy or Tommy's tour, starting later this month. I think it would be good for some kind of statement to be made before then, so that we don't have to rely or even hassle them for information they may not be privy to.

I think you are right, there must be some sticking point, but the fact that none of the band members have 'quit', and the record company hasn't stopped the project or dumped the band shows that everyone who appears to be invlolved still has faith in Chinese Democracy. I also think the fact we haven't heard much from Tommy since November is a good sign.

Maybe there is a legal or commercial reason for the delay. However I truly believe that where there's a will there's a way and if the record company believed in both the album and the vision, they wouldn't let this get in the way of a release. After all, as GH showed, the GNR phenonema must still be one of their biggest (and maybe most reliable) assets.

Personally, I believe either they are waiting patiently for the right moment, all of the recording, marketing, publicity & tour arrangements to be in place, or Axl is off on one somewhere in the desert.

Singles  usually arrive 2 months in advance isnt it true ? so:

that was more than 10 years ago. Times have changed on those days you could sell 10 million records with ease.
