...what do you think the odds are of Guns N' Roses showing up and/or performing at the Grammy Awards on February 13th?

Seems like a GREAT opportunity to make an announcement or to perform a new single.

Every time there is an awards ceremony of any kind (VMAs, Grammy's, AMAs etc.) people start threads about Guns n Roses showing up...

What are the odds of them being at the Grammys? Pretty slim I would have thought!

« Reply #3 on: January 02, 2005, 11:55:57 AM »

I'd have to say April 05, cause Spring of 2005 to me spirirtually feels right. That might not be what Axl has in mind. I release my new art every Spring give or take a year, I usually have great success that way. Its very difficult for me to release new items. I look to the spiritual world, may sound weird but it works for me. I must say anything that disturbs me in the sliest ( artisticly speaking ) throws me back. We all know in the world of GNR, if theres any major disturbances, were in trouble. So far the quietness in the GNR camp is a good thing. I have a good feeling we'll see CD release this April.

Show up at an awards show where VR is nominated in multiple categories and has a decent shot at accepting an award or 2?

the world is gettin small, maybe a award show after a release instead of a "suprise" gig again, so they can get awards too beer

Zero. This is no different than any other album release rumor and awards show rumors.

Well Tommy's and Dizzy's tours end right before the Grammy awards...

But when they could have rehearsed all together? Before the tours? Like... Right now? Shocked

Sorry, man no chance no

That's a great thought, but the Grammy's are too "artsy" for GNR to make a splash at. Rock is definitely not a big category amongst all in the Grammy pool. As far as awards shows go, the VMA's are about their only ticket. The MTV Movie Awards are pretty big, and they always have a few musical performances, but it's not the stage for a huge announcement or anything. But those are taped weeks in advance, while the VMA's are live...

Question: Before the 2002 VMA's took place, did we have any clue that GN'R would be guests? any roumors? Or it was a big surprise?
Just curious about it.

maybe gnr will play at half time during the superbowl??  that would be tight!   it would be a good time to drop a single and promote the album.  February is the time for gnr to do something a single atleast.

I don't believe the April release rumor and the chances of GNR playing at the Grammy's are less than zero. It is absurd.

i dunno - maybe it's all the GNR stuff kinda floating around, in regards to movies and video games recently, but im leaning toward believing.... but definitely not the grammys - GNR is bigger then that shit.
