Missing GUNS N' ROSES Fan Found After Two Years - Dec. 30, 2004 
 
BBC News is reporting that a rock music fan who went missing two years ago while on a trip to Chicago for a concert has been found.

Kirsty Ormerod (photo), now 22, left her home in Newport in November 2002 and flew alone to the U.S. to see GUNS N' ROSES.

Her last known movement had been on November 20 when she withdrew a small amount of money from a cash machine.

Gwent Police said they have been told by American counterparts that Ms Ormerod has been traced and has married and settled there.

Detective Sergeant John Giles said: "There is no suggestion she is coming home and she does not want her location being given out.

"Her family has been informed and they are relieved she is safe and well. We are closing the file on it."

Over the past two years, Gwent Police had worked with American forces and the FBI's Missing Persons Bureau in an effort to find Ms Ormerod.

During appeals, her family, from Leeds, said she was a free spirit and had done her own thing in the past without telling them, but her disappearance had been out of character.

Members of GUNS N' ROSES had also issued a statement urging Kirsty to contact someone to say she was safe and well in the months following her disappearance.

A big smile came across my face when i read that. We've had half a dozen or so requests from police and family in the last two years and i pretty much expected her to be found dead in some ditch off a highway.

Yeah I think it's super great she's alive.......but c'mon....look at how much time and money and worrying she caused to be wasted because she wanted to "run away" or whatever.  I'm sure she knew  her dissappearance had caused some what of a stirrup and she may even have done it just to get a response from GNR Management.  Pretty sad so I definitely hope she puts out a statement or something.

For those who remember this, a female GnR fan disappeared after the Chicago show and there was a few posts here on the boards. Well according to the Sun newspaper in the UK, she is alive and well.

I think this women is a complete idoit.  She had her whole family worried and law enforcement wasted there time and money. She is very selfish person and only thinks of herself. This women should get her head bashed in, she clearly needs help.

I am glad for her family sake that she is alive, but what she did was irresponsible and just wrong to her family. If she wanted to get away that's fine, but she should have left a note or made a phone call. Imagine the awful things that ran through her parents head, wondering what happened to their baby girl.
