ok i am good at coming up with off the wall analogies and here is another one

i compare Guns N Roses break up with the break up of the NBA's LA Lakers

Axl being Kobe Bryant
and Shaq representing Duff, slash and matt

for those who dont know the LA Lakers were a dynasty led by Shaquille O neal and Kobe Bryant

they won 3 NBA titles in a row but egos and conflicts between the two superstars destroyed the dynasty.

Kobe was a free agent and wouldnt resign with the Lakers unless he was the only star.

Shaq got traded, kobe is still in LA

Shaq was traded to Miami who own one of the best records in the league currently at 23-7

the lakers are now a joke and at 14-12 and struggling

miami is VR, platinum cd, selling out shows

Axl is now like the Lakers

like the lakers and heat both bands are good but will never be championship kings on top of the world bands

Velvet Revolver are great but cant come close to GNR

GNR are great and the jury is still out on how great they will end up.

together kobe and shaq were unstoppable just like axl and slash. on their own although they are still excellent players, their new teams will more than likely never win an NBA title again
and i wonder on their own how successful axl and slash will end up

slash has done pretty well, hopefully axl will also.

This puts D in the lead for winning THE stupidest GNR vs VR thread of 2004 prize...

...but before this gets locked or moved, here's my favorite Kobe vs Shaq anecdote.? Tongue

Phil Jackson, Lakers coach during the Kobe/Shaq era, was famous for posing philosophical questions to his players as a means of teaching and inspiring them.? Kobe was infamous for being a very selfish player.? At one practice session during the height of the Kobe vs Shaq feud, Coach Jackson posed this question for Shaq to ponder:? If Kobe had a kidney stone, would he pass it? lmao

that isnt stupid, most people on here post the same stuff over and over, i did it in a very unique colorful way.

so to say something is stupid when its such a far out complex, different way of comparing something really is being close minded.

My two biggest idols are Kobe Bryant and Axl Rose.

Lakers will be the champions and Kobe Bryant will be the MVP. Oh yeah, he scored 48 points last night. Maybe Axl finished a good song too.   Tongue
