I heard that on NYE, there is a 'very surprise guest/performance you won't want to miss' on MTV's NYE party/bash.

Realistically, could it be anything GN'R related as everyone was saying that in December, we'd hopefully hear news?

 Tongue

See, that'd be our luck.......everyone has their eyes set for 2005 now and watch we all miss them play or announce a single on NYE as we are all out getting drunk somewhere? rofl

That would be so cool if it was. I haven't heard anything about it. Realistically, I doubt it.

And yeah, it would be our luck, we're all out parting and everything, and then something spectacular happens. Well, might as well get started.  beer

MTV's exact words were this:

They just didn't say big suprise, but said its gonna be huge and its worth it!

When GN'R were on VMA's............were any clues such as the above given out or was it just the clues by Jimmy Fallon?

There were lots of clues. Other than the rumors swirling here, during the pre-show, apparently Pink said "I can't wait to see Buckethead" or something like that. AND, when Pink was on stage, she was wearing the same t-shirt Axl wore in the WTTJ video. As for before the VMA's, I don't remember if MTV said anything about it, but then again I don't really pay attention to MTV.

I don't pay attention to MTV either.  I was channel surfing and tuned in when they said that peace

I just think it would be so funny if they did play or something big happened because it would certainly catch people by surprise and I can see the posts the next day:

"Fuck, I missed it"

"Was that GN'R on MTV?  I couldn't tell after my 6th beer".

 hihi beer

yea it seems about right that we'd all miss it if it happened. oh the liffe of a gunner Tongue

but realisticly i would say it would be a band/singer whose already out there doing something right now. i wouldnt expect a rock act, more likley Jay-Z or somebody but if i had to guess a band or two, maybe Montle Crue or velvet revolver

With all the Motley Crue hype now, I'd say it's them.

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #7 on: December 22, 2004, 12:33:13 AM »

That would be totally cool Bring in the new year with some information on Chinese! I wouldnt get too hyped up about it. I dont ever remember the ball dropping the last 2 years because I was smashed. I hope we can get some clues that way I will at least stay sober enought to remember what happens.
I do however remember last year I was making out with some hot chick while I was jamming to KOHD from the Ritz show.

I have read some speculation that it's either the Backstreet Boys reformed or justin timberlake reunited with N' Sync. No insider info, but considering MTV, pretty good guesses.

I hate seeing threads like this, because it gets me so pumped.  If this happened it would be perfect, so many millions tuning in to see GN'R once again tear it up.  Any way we could find out about this?

very very doubtful.. its probably either motley crue or, as killingvictor said, some boy band.. i'm not getting my hopes up and staying sober on new years eve because of this hunch..  Wink

That night of the VMA's (2002) I was dead tired from work and I had the volume on low. I see jimmy fallon whistling patience, he had a blue jean jacket and a GNR t-shirt underneath (barely could see it) and I still had no fucking clue what he was doing. Talk about moron. I found out early the next morning at work listening to 10/10 winz
As far the MTV thing, I doubt its GNR it's probably Usher or some other artist with no substance.

JLo has a new album coming out next year, I bet it's a performance from her.

I don't think it'll be her. Looks like she's going to premier a video

Just use this easy equation to come up with new threads:

MTV show + surprise guest = GN'R

It's true every time!  hihi
