Come on, this is pathetic hypocrisy. Just because a board member has acted in an irritating way, that doesn't give someone - especially not the mods, because it's hardly a good way of respecting their responsibility - the right to insult them. Often it seems to be done at the same time as locking the person's thread, as if a bad thread is justification for a harsh insult. It's even worse like that though, because it's just a cowardly way of making sure of having the last word on the issue. Adz, I've always liked you (Don't tell me: "Tim, I'm touched  LOCKED") since I've been around on this board, but this really has to stop. Jarmo, you should either remove the rule in question, or perhaps not be so biased in favour of the mods, realise that some of them are breaking the rules more often than their condemnation of other rule-breakers would suggest, and have them stop it. Maybe you could condemn them to solitary, and have them only eat bread and water for a week, each time they offend and then try to wriggle their way out of it. I'm by no means claiming I've never said an unkind word on HTGTH, but if I was to be told not to do it, by a mod, I wouldn't feel obliged to obey the order, because of this hypocrisy.

The board is NOT a democracy, and real fairness only lives in the fevered imaginations and misguided dreams of mistaken idealists.  The system in place is better than most others by far, and it works well in my opinion.  Mods have earned the right to be a little more above the law every now and then.  They've worked to be mods, and are entitled to a few privileges that we aren't as regular posters.
It's the way of the world, and I, for one, am satisfied with it.

It was over-reacting, yeah, I think maybe Gunnerdownunder had a point, so like I said, sod it. I don't want this to get as messy as your thread did, so I'll take my own advice and not make a big deal out of it. I would argue the hypocrisy accusation directed at me slightly, because I don't feel opinions stated about Chris are necessarily relevant to this thread, but something definitely came over me last night when I posted.
