Oh ok.
It's just cos I know an Argentinean one in which the singer sounds exactly like Mercury.

3. one year of love
4. is this the world we created
5. its a hard life
6. there isnt really a queen song that i dont like, from the freddie solo stuff to the queen classics.i was watching britians strongest man 1984 yesterday on skytv and at the end they played bodylanguage by freddie which shocked me as ive never heard it on tv before.my fav queen song about 14 years ago was the last song on the miracle album, was it all worth it.the orchastre in it was amazing back then and the song still rocks nowadays.check it out if ye aint heard it yet.

I've been listening to quite a bit of Queen lately, well the Greatest Hits cds anyway, because that's all I have.
But just going by those cds they had quite a few great songs.
It's a shame Tie Your Mother Down, Stone Cold Crazy and Sail Away Sweet Sister weren't on those albums though, because those songs rock too, but then I guess they weren't "greatest hits"

Exactly the point but as you said those weren't "greatest hits" even though TYMD is on the DVD Greatest hits 1 There are lots of jewels in Queen discography and my personal faves are who needs you, all dead, sail away sweet sister, rock it (prime jive)

I've been listening to this silly band some lately. So far, I haven't been very imressed. Brian May hasn't played any great guitar solo in any of the songs I've heard. I've heard all of Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack, and Some Kind of Magic. Freddy Mercury doesn't really sing that well in the classic albums. He has a naturally beautiful voice, but he doesn't do the screams he IS capable of doing in the old albums, but he does show off his range in SKOM. Gimme The Prize shows off his skill well. Maybe Halford had to sing like that first for a while until Mercury got the picture.
Songs like Ogre Battle, Fairy Feller, Nevermore, and The 7 Seas of Rhye are good for Queen II, but it certainly isn't the epic rock opera I've been told it is. Sheer Heart Attack is the opposite of Queen II; the A side is solid, but it gets bad as the record goes on.
It's decent rock music, but I just don't see the hype. They just sound like a watered down version of Judas Priest to me. Mercury doesn't SCREEEAM like he could, May doesn't shred, and, um, the other guys just don't stand out at all.?
I had to read this like 10 times to believe it. You're young and that is forgiveable, dissin one of the greatest singers that has ever lived is not. Hearing aids are free on the NHS I suggest you apply for one.

I'm not dissing Mercury or May at all. I just pointed out that they show too much restraint of their abilities. I suspect they did better performances live, so I'll try and find a bootleg one of these days.

I mentioned this in another thread but I'll ask in this thread too so anyway, is it just me or would Johnny Depp be great for a Freddie Mercury biopic? I don't know, after watching his movies I think he kind of looks like him and all the different roles he played and how much of a good actor he is, I think he could pull it off. And plus, Depp is into music himself like Rock n' Roll and stuff.
