I like A minor more so than C major

I firmly believe Axl knows about this board, and has probably even written on it before posing as a fan or something. So, amazingly enough, I might now be speaking directly to Axl himself...

so, Axl, I realize I put my ass on the line for suggesting this, but here is a possible plan for you to use to break back in.

things we know already: 1) u have a major fan base still waiting  2) your name and the band name is still very much a part of pop culture, although time is ticking....so sales are going to be strong no matter what  3) u have great songs sitting on the computer hard drive

2002 happened and its done and thats that...moving forward...

here's where it gets tricky. either release the album the traditional way, OR......my plan...

release a single with a famous and very popular chick singer.....the one that im thinking about is Gwen Stefani...ok get over the shock and continue....it could be someone else, but that chick needs to be good and have credibility, not like ashlee simpson or lohan.....i think Gwen would be best, b/c she's still cool n young enough to be cool for teenagers but she also gets the 20s and 30s crowd too.

now...gwen is good...whether u like her or not, who cares, she has talent, she's not f-ckin hillary duff. she puts on a good show and still has rock roots in her. NOW, IMAGINE A HOT TRACK WITH HER N AXL!!!!!

teenagers know the name axl rose, but little more. we'd be exposing the new gnr to a new fan base, and perhaps the MOST IMPORTANT fan base. everyone else (20s, 30s, 40s) will be into it too cuz the quality and star power of the song would be UNDENIABLE!!!!!!!!! it would have to a KILLER song, edgy, maybe alittle heavier then gwen would be used to. i mean, lets face it, the song could NOT BE A WIMPY N GENERIC CELINE DION SONG. it would have to rock n hit hard n heavy.

it would be a shock and a great way to introduce you, AXL ROSE, back onto the radio....here in nyc, you would be on 92.3 KROCK and 100.3 Z100!!! it would be crazy and the talk of the town. Then you do a HUGE and....LIVE.....sit down interview with kurt loder at 10pm on MTV. You annouce the release date for Chinese Democracy and u annouce the new single release date (like2 days after the mtv interview).

The video would have to be ready to go, and the tour announced like 10 days after that. Axl, you're still a HUGE star. Everyone has problems, its time for you to re-emerge and fulfill your destiny.

GNR doesn`t need a novelty like a female singer to get the attention of teenagers. It would be a cool if they did something like that, but it would have to be out of an artistic motivation, doing it for the sole purpose of selling more albums would be "selling out."

I know, thats why the song would have to be SLAMMING..it would have to be UNDENIALBE.

like, im not into hip hop or RnB, but i cannot deny DEstintys Child n beyonce, specifically...meaning, they have some great songs that u just cannot deny...

this track would have to be the same. even rap fans would be like, thats a good song. i know its a crazy idea...but it could also be the talk of the world for weeks...

With Axl rumored to have worked with Shaquille O`Neal guest rapping and Axl liking hip hop, it could happen. I wouldn`t be thrilled if that happened, I`m not into hip-hop/rap.

What are u talking about???

Im not saying a rap or hip hop song, im saying Axl Rose and Gwen Stefani doing an unltr-cool, edgy rock song, with maybe some very very very light electronica/industrial fx

Sounded like you were implying in your last post Axl should do a song along the lines of Beyonce and Destiny`s child. If I misunderstood , my bad.

Well, publicity-wise, Britney is better.....no, wait!? Avril would be the best choice to creat a sensation. I much prefer Ami tho.

But I don?t think so. For the first single? No fuckin way. It?s not a solo Act. They gotta introduce the BAND.

But it wouldn't have anything to do with the band, it would only be Axl Rose, as an artist.

In this day n age, there are so many collaborations, and the singles are making money. the music business has changed, is changing, and will be changing for awhile now...probably forever. it could be a good way to make a splash in the world for Axl, a world driven by star power....who bigger than axl rose.

axl n gwen...its not cheesy or anything, and wouldn't be considered a sell-out...the song would just have to be right and the promo cool....the loder interview could be cool.....i mean, thats IF Axl ever wants to get this thing going....

which gets me back to destiny....

and the need to fulfill it

I agree... i'm thinking something along these lines for the video
showing the various band members coming together

the intro music plays low in the background
the video shows the various bandmembers hooking up
through phone calls and whatnot...
getting in their cars heading to the studio
goofing around a bit in the studio before they plug in and then get to the hard intro
they should play a bit before the vocals come in and we wouldn't see Axl until then
then after the song finishes... we see Axl taking off his headphones and joining the band - like greeting eachother in a celbratory manner... the video shows them all walking out of the studio together in the background as it zooms in on the cd cover laying casually on one of the tables/desks or whatever in the studio

the entire video should not be of them in the studio... obviously
it shoudl include some live footage (whether actual or staged)
and also some footage of the individual band members... ?something that would express a bit of their life and/or personality... ?of course including Axl

wouldn't it be cool if we saw Axl reading the internet ... the camera zooms in on some internet garbage rumour..
and we see Axl react

i think there should be something relating to buckethead also ... imagine if we see Axl pulling up to the KFC drivethru...
we don't hear any dialouge (of course) but lets say he gets stuck waiting in the drivethru and he just gets out and leaves his car there

who hasn't wanted to desert their car in the drivethru because the line isn't moving ?Grin

the video could shoiw how the band came together
for example it could include a scene that re-creates Axl at cirque du soliel seeing Robin...
like it 'flashbacks'... ?all during the song playing
after the intro with the band members coming into the studio

hell... i think it could even include characters/actors who play the old band members
like an actor recreating when Slash quit... when Duff quit
i think in these scenes we should only see their backs...
or the back of their head.. or just partial shots of them....
the camera more focusing on Axl and his reaction
no actual dialogue... just quick scenes that convey what Axl went through
what Guns N' Roses has survived...

i think this could be done A LOT better than my feeble attempt at trying to describe it
if done properly- a video that shows the old band as the general public last knew it... and how it became
the band that they are seeing in the video... I think it would be very powerful

My suggestion is for Axl to do something about his "hair" before he tours again.  Also he should consider getting into shape so that he can take his shirt off again, I know the guy is over 40 but he can lose the love handles.

Without wanting to stray to away from the thread too much for other peoples benefit....

But

I do wonder where all the money that Celtic generates worldwide goes? Doesn't seem to go towards the team. And I this is still the ugliest Rangers team football wise I have ever seen, I don't want to be considered Championship material if Bob Malcom is considered one of our better players, it speaks volumes!
I really hope , I really do, that the old firm starts slipping out regular and a a good honest team like Hearts will lift the title. Mabye then the old firm will have to accept just how ordinary there teams are.
"Scottish footballs holding us back, we want to go to the premiership" FUCK OFF! Get the fucking cash out and try to fucking improve Scottish football if you think its holding you back!

I mean Guns N' Roses are great!!
