This site has a whole bunch of hilarious pictures of rock stars when they are kids. Take a look at our boys, when they were boys:
AXL ROSE
SLASH
IZZY STRADLIN'
DUFF MCKAGAN

Cool! I've not seen the Duff and Slash pics before. Duff looks very girlish...

Thanks a lot! That's very cool... the other pics on the site are interesting too...
It's hard to look at Layne Staley's adorable face and know what we know about how he died. That holds true for a few of those people.
This has got me thinking. As children, we are generally cute and no one wants any harm to come to us. Then we hit our teen years (still technically children) and we blast our bodies and minds with chemicals and bring all kinds of harm to ourselves. You gotta wonder who we hurt along the way. You know, who still thought we were that cute kid? Who saw us lying on the floor wasted...
Take a look at little John Frusciante... I know people want to 'choose' how they live and die, but are we doing each other a great disservice by not trying to keep each other free of any kind of intoxication or harm?
I recently quit smoking after a good number of years and when I told my family I couldn't believe how happy they actually were. Now I'm working on eliminating alcohol...
Sometimes I think about stuff like this.

I thought of the same thing when I saw Layne, actually.
The reason I like seeing old pictures of celebrities when they were kids or teenagers or whatever is because you can basically see somebody like yourself. When you're a kid, everybody always says something like, "I wanna be a rock star when I grow up!" But these are people that actually did what they accomplished. These look like just ordinary people you'd know from school, and the fact that they went on to become utter rock 'n' roll gods just blows my mind.
