I don't think Finck and Fortus is enough to generate the excitment this band had when Big B was still involved. B's departure was a terrible loss. If the new band was to take off, he was the new member most likely to become a superstar.

just FYI, although Marc Ford is an amazing guitarist, he has been asked at least once to join Guns but he declined.

Buckethead a star? He would be one of the reasons why everyone (at least in Europe) would laugh at them. Don't forget that Slash is really, really popular and gets a lot of sympathy from the casual fans.

I think the best replacement now would be Slash. I'm not "living in the past" or crap like that. But the reason I'm here is because of the old GNR, they created the sound I so deeply love.

I still give them a chance though, the new GNR. I hope they will be great.

DAVE NAVARRO

or Rogers Stevens, but I think Dave would suit this band better.

Haha, Marc Ford!?! Mine as well have Izzy play lead then. Ford is a broke as a joke version of Slash. & that ain't gonna cut it.

At least not a guitarist that have a history with a big rock band in the past and I don't think that will be the scenario.

If i could pick bh's replacement  it would be ME...

id love to be the lead guitar player for guns n roses...

I could hang out and get all the free studio time i wanted... I could record and tour a solo album with all my crappy songs that nobody would give a shit about...

People would come to my solo shows and buy me free booze and free weed and pussy just hoping that i would give any information about chinese democracy..  my answer everytime would be "Soon"

I would get paid alot of money and not really have to do a whole fuck ton of work...

Top it off with all the contacts i would be making and free gear i could get ..  I could do anything i wanted just coz i was the "lead guitarist for guns n roses"

Yep i think i would like to be the replacement for Buckethead ..

I like the Marc Ribot idea....that's actually really intriguing...Then, of course, you'd have to put Joey Baron on drums....

Justin Hawkins from The Darkness. How cool would that be? to most, probably not that cool, but to me that would kick ass...

specially if he did some of his awsome raw power solo's.

The worst decision would be to bring in a guitarist with a lot of bagage. Like Jimmy Page (even though he is a great guitarist), Brian May or someone like that. They have to work under the G n?R - umbrella, not be the Zeppelin-guitarist that signed for Guns for a while in the end of his career.

I want someone that is relatively, or completely, new and who is totally commited. But hopefully no one will replace Bucketheads parts on the record. Cause then its just another excuse why the record won't come out yet.

I honestly can't think of anyone more ideal than Dave Navarro, one of my all time favs (after Mr Saul Hudson)

I really want to hear Buckethead on Chinese Democracy and am hoping for a reconciliation

Ya know what, I'm gonna say it right now - I can't stand Dave Navarro.  Guy used to be cool back in the day, but now he's just the guitar go-to-guy who whores himself out to everybody.  It seems like there's a million singles that "feature Dave Navarro on guitar!"  When you start to play with Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, sorry, you're no longer an uber-rock guitarist in my book.  Also, he gets to bang Carmen Electra regularly.  That makes him cool, but it also makes me despise him.  hihi

My vote would go to somebody like Steve Vai.  He could add some much-needed levity to nuGNR.

It's all very well people saying get Slash back, but Slash has moved on, he's in a new band Wink besides which, i wonder what Slash would sound like playing what Buckethead has contributed to the new GN'R. There is only one Buckethead, they should get him back.

The big problem with the new GN'R is, the more band members leave GN'R, the more difficult it will be to find some who A.is good enough and B.is prepared to learn all GN'R songs played live and is prepared to stand there on a stage while fans waving banners reading *where's Slash?* or *where's Buckethead?* - it seems as if a huge hole is being dug and it's getting deeper?
