You know when it actually does happen, none of us are going to believe it!
Personally I think if a radio station was about to debut a new GNR song it would be the front page headline on their website  and so far I've found nothing on their sites

Even if this is true, it obviously wasn't meant to be an "official announcement".
The DJ could have just heard through a program manager or a source he has that a new GnR track would be coming in a couple of weeks.
If it was "official news" that a new GnR track would be released to rock radio in 2 weeks, it would be reported everywhere.
So, don't dismiss it altogether, but it's still a rumor at best.
