It's from a magazine called "Guitar Legends" w/Slash on the cover. Its a compilation of different Slash articles from Guitar Mags. I have it..its actually a decent comp. They have articles from right after AFD hit big all the way to the present with VR. I do agree that the sidebar w/people's comments on Axl is pretty biased, though. All in a day's work I suppose...

yup.. that's where i got it from.

and i think the quote that's taken most out of context is the brian may quote.. in the original interview he was practically shitting himself talkin about axl and the new songs..  hihi

Thanks 2 those who went 2 Mustang Harry's on May 12th. That made my first concert experience something I'll never forget. Never did I feel like I fit in anywhere as much as I did amongst you strangers

Meh, it's just a sidebar.  Interesting to read.  I think that all you guys who are complaining that the article is unfairly biased against Axl have to take a long hard look at the facts.  If Axl is NOT hard to work with and does NOT need to do things his way in his own time, then why has it taken him 10 years to make an album and why has he gone through a million different players?

Meh, it's just a sidebar.? Interesting to read.? I think that all you guys who are complaining that the article is unfairly biased against Axl have to take a long hard look at the facts.? If Axl is NOT hard to work with and does NOT need to do things his way in his own time, then why has it taken him 10 years to make an album and why has he gone through a million different players?
And I think you need to look at the quotes in their original context, and see how they were twisted to "show" something negative against Axl. Also Axl has been working on this album since 1998 not 1993 or 1994. Also I suppose you haven't read any interviews with the members of Guns N' Roses (at this point). They all say the reason it has taken 5-6 years to get the album(s) right is because Axl is trying to get all the possible input from all the members of the band. When you have people of such different musical backgrounds it is going to take a long time to make these people create a special type of bond and a coefficient creative effort. Even Brian May and John Freese have said this. Why don't you take a look at the facts.

They don?t work only with him. Those players are a million mile different to each other.
For instance
Quote from: axlschild link=topic 186.msg280151#msg280151 date 98614745
I heard it was Zakk & Slash that didn?t get on.
They both tried to kick each others ass with their playing and it didn?t workout.
Apparently people of such different musical backgrounds are hard to work together in harmony and the work doesn?t proceed smoothly. Therefore usually people prefer stay with their own kinds. But GNR is an unusual band.
In GNR each player ought to transcend the differences to sublimate conflicts into art while keeping one?s individuality. Like Indy said, it takes time, sure.
I think Guns n? Roses aims at taking up varied elements from guns to roses and making something mind-blowing from them.

Like somebody said the Brian May quote is so out of context, it's surreal. The guy spent 10 minutes saying how great Axl was and they took the only phrase that was not positive. Gimme a freakin break... Roll Eyes

Thanks for posting, but it's really sad how lots of magazines describe Axl as a big asshole whom everybody hates. It's always Axl's fault if something does not work out, of course... Roll Eyes

Looks like a deperate attempt on an article regarding GNR.

Completely negative, out of context and vague. Did John Kerry write this article? (sorry, couldn`t resist that one)
