ok got em up, the first pic is the cover of my dads track booklet thing, notice is says jeff track, thats because the school axl and izzy and my pops went to is Jefferson High or something like that, the second pick is just a pic to show you that it's in Lafayette, the third pic is the list of runners that have been in the track program notice, bill bailey (axel) 75-77
now im guessing that axl just asked for his nickname to be displayed back in high school, maybe he spelled it axel back then, maybe he told them axl and the track people spelled it wrong in the booklet, theres some funny stories that my dad has told me about axl, so if you want me to tell ya some of them i s'pose i will but i may have already told them ealier in this thread, it was a long time ago i know, but i finally got around to it
and if this aint enough proof for you, ill try to dig up some more stuff outta my dads box, but i dunno if theres anything else that involves axl, plus ill have my dads yearbook when i see my grandma next which will prolly be a while, but not too long

That's pretty cool.

I was on the track team in HS too. It was co-ed though. Our track coach was also the head football coach, and he would get up in our faces and yell. And we're like, "dude it's just track".

That sounds cool, but I think Axl was still Bill Bailey at the time when he was in HS, so Im gonna have to take this one with a grain of salt. Im not saying its a lie!

im not saying he had fully changed his name, what i think is that he probably told the track people he wanted his nickname in the track booklet, we do that at school if somone happens to have a nickname

its defintly true this is half the reason i got into guns
ill have the yearbook eventually then ill put those pics up
theres 2 of axl, his school picture and one of him in choir
and 2 of izzy, his school picture and a pic of him in drawing class or something
and on top of one of the language classes pages, it says "its all greek to me"

Sorry to bring back a 2 week old thread, but I never noticed it until my attention was brought to it by a thread in the main GNR section.

The list of names was clearly printed after 1990, not in 1979.  I don't know by who or why, but in 1979, I doubt they were predicting the names of future track members.  The top of the list says "boy's cross country 1963-1990", and the dates next to other names range up to 1990.  So whoever printed the list in 1990 or later probably would have known to add Axl after the name, but why they misspelled it, who knows.  I just don't see how that list of names could have been in a 1979 track book, unless that book was created after 1990. 

This just doesn't make any sense.  Or am I missing something?

Because at the top of the list of names, pic 3, it says "Boys Cross Country 1963-1990".

So unless they were predicting future team members, it had to be printed after 1990, right?

wow nice catch i didnt notice that, well then they prolly did go back and spell his name wrong my dad prolly picked that paper up from a class reunion or something, but my dad is going to my grandma's house in just a couple of days, ill have him pick up the yearbook and i'll scan it and put the pics up in this thread so be lookin in a couple of days

theres 2 regular pics of axl and izzy which are already on the internet
and theres a pic of axl singing in choir and a pic of izzy in drawing class which i havnt seen on the net before
