I think i do just fine, duff wrote great things with axl but once he left gnr, he has not written anything good.

I believe Duff gets writing credit on number 1 debuting Contraband which has subsequently spawned 2 number 1 rock singles thus far, pretty "good" I'd say..

You have a problem with text interpretation...

You can have a good album and be in the top charts.

You can have a bad album and be in the top charts.

You can have a good album and not be in the top charts.

You can have a bad album and not be in the top charts.

The two things (good/bad album and sales numbers) are not necessarily related, we have countless examples showing that.

Holy shit!  It's cute that a simple, little (albeit, prickish) quote from Duff in some obscure interview could breath so much life into this rapidly dying board.

Anyway, I have always thought that the "Duff" songs were hands-down the worse, least-listenable songs from GNR...Civil War is and always will be my most-hated GNR tune, and it reeks of Mr.McKagen.  I bought Belive In Me (for some reason) when it originally came out, and it was God awful.

However, a statement like this one that Duff has made really, really says alot.  The very first thing I thought of when I read it, well before meticulously reading all of the posts on this thread was this: The idea that Axl never really wrote any GNR songs explains quite well why it's taking him over a decade to come up with an album without those guys.

I obvisiously know that. i just think it's funny that people feel the need to criticize VR and irrationally defend Axl no matter what.

of course Axl was guns n' roses and velvet revolver sucks because they don't have Axl Rose. Now if they had Axl rose then it would be alright to refer to them as good because they have a hit record.
