A new NYC date for Tommy:
Thursday December 9 Irving Plaza
New York, NY Full Band Perfroming
w/ Tommy Stinson
I wonder if this is a unique show after mid October. The very last solo act back in US sounds Very special.
If so, I?m a sorryass non New Yorker to miss this one.

Apparently my friend got us tickets for the show in Gothenburg.
It's supposed to be a really small place, the capacity is about 200 I think.
This is supposed to be one of those acoustic shows. Is it just Tommy and his guitar player opening for Jesse?

I met Tommy on Friday night at the Dublin show.
He was really good. Heres the story
My girlfriend and I got to The Village at 7.30pm expecting a queue but there were only 4 or 5 there. We went upstairs to the venue and saw a small stand selling Tommy and Jessy Malin merchandise. We got a couple of beers at the bar and I looked to my right and there was Tommy right beside me. I was a bit surprised for him to be right there so we just went to our seats. As other people started coming in Tommy was in and out of the back stage area. I pulled out my "New Democracy RIRIII" bootleg CD cover and stopped Tommy in his tracks. I shook his hand and introduced myself and my girlfriend Laura. I told him we were there to check out his new music and that we had seen him in Leeds in 2002. We had been in the very front row of 50,000 people there. He was really friendly and seemed happy that that we stopped him and recognised him ( I think the place was full of Jessy Malin fans) He said Leeds was an awesome show and he loved doing it. I gave him the album cover to sign and he asked me what it was that he was signing. He started laughing really loud and said he really shouldnt be signing bootlegs. I showed him a photo of him and Axl on the back and his name in the credits and he seemed really interested and was happy to autograph it.
I said I would have had him sign the real Chinese Democracy if I hade it yet but this is all I had. I asked him sarcastically if he slipped me a copy CD then I would have him sign that instead. He gave me the cover and had written "Anthony + Laura, Just wait for the real thing !!! Tommy Stinson"
At that point Alien Crime Syndicate thumped in with their tunes so the conversation had to end. I shook his hand and he headed back stage. He kept coming in and out until ACS finished. He then got up and sang his first tune on his own with just his electric guitar. I was really cool to see someone sing on their own with an electric and it sounded great. ACS took up band duties for the next 5 or 6 tunes. They were really good and the music was thumpin. At one point one of the ACS guys introduced Tommy as ex-replacements and as a solo artist but at no point in the night did anyone refer to him as GNR.
After Tommys set I met him again on the way to the Toilet. I told his his music was really good and that I was now officially a converted fan. Again he seemed really greatful for the complement and thanked me for coming to see him.
Tommy was at the bar all the time through the night hanging with the Alien Crime Syndicate guys and meeting other people. About half way through Jessy Malins set I had to leave so I asked him could I get a photo with him. He was fairly drunk at that stage and said no problem. Laura took the photo with me Tommy and the lead guy from ACS. Tommy then said he was really grateful we came to see him and said he hoped to see us again soon. He kissed Laura on the cheek and then gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek too!!! (I'll put it down to the drink!!!)
All said he really was a nice guy and it just seemed rude and out of place to ask him about stuff he obviously wasnt able to talk about (CD, GNR etc etc) Im just glad I got to meet him, got the photo and got the bootleg autographed. Ill post the photo and scan the autograph when I get a chance.
And Im pretty sure Im the only guy to be kissed by a GNR member!!!

Finally somebody from the board went to see him in Europe.
Oh, and if you don't have his album yet, check it out. It's not bad at all.

hi I Just have been back from Seeing Tommy at Leeds UK. He played i nice show.
Before he started me an my girlfriend spoke to him and i said that i liked his album.
I was wearing a New GNR Star T-shirt and i pointed that to him. I asked him when this fucking album is comming out and with enthusiasm he said in couple of Months. Then I asked him how it sounds and he said awesome.
After that we took a photo with him.
After couple of songs of Jesse Malin we decided to leave and on the way out we met him again. I Wished him a nice European tour and Nice time In GREECE. He was quite surprised by that and then He shacked my hand and smiled. Next to him was a guy from ACS
and he noticed my newGNR t-shirt and he was quite surprised. He pointed that to tommy and and they both laughed in a good way. We said goodnight and left.
He was a friendly guy and good musician. He seemed quite confident about the release of C.D

I saw him in Belfast last week.. I didn't post about it because I am only really sober now and there isn't really much to say
He was really good and the crowd seemed to like him, even though they seemed to mostly be Jesse fans.. people I spoke to didn't know who Tommy was until I continually informed them
? The only let-down was that he only played about 5 or 6 songs (though I was drunk so I could be wrong about that lol) and the best ones were when he played along with ACS.. the crowd seemed to get into it more then.? My brother had never heard of him before, but said he thought they should have let him play for longer
I got a few photos but they are on a crappy disposable camera, so we shall see if they turn out.? Tommy took one of us both together.. I asked him for a photo of *him* and he hugged me and took the camera and tried to take us both.. so I'll probably have a photo of a wall or something instead lol
I was too shy to talk to him though.. so I just thanked him and let him go.? Later I bumped into him and his friend outside the toilet killing themselves laughing at his friend who had toilet roll stuck to his shoe and couldn't get it off..
He said he loved Belfast
I wonder did he still love it on Friday when the city was at a standstill because of bomb scares lol .. maybe they managed to flee the country early enough to miss that though.. I dunno if they stayed the night or left for Dublin straight away!
It was a really good night.. I think if he's playing near ya that it's really worth going!!
And Jesse Malin wasn't bad either... I stayed until the end... which was pretty early.. the bar closed at 12 and they kicked us out like 10 mins later
