Balls of Molten Steel

« on: October 11, 2004, 02:45:13 AM »

Christopher Reeve, the star of the Superman movies whose near-fatal horse riding accident nine years ago turned him into a worldwide advocate for spinal cord research, died Sunday of heart failure, reports the Associated Press. He was 52.

Reeve fell into a coma Saturday after going into cardiac arrest while at his New York home, his publicist, Wesley Combs said.

Reeve always will be known to movie fans as the strapping, boyishly handsome stage veteran whose charm and humor brought a new dimension to the characters of Superman and his alter-ego, Clark Kent.

I used to watch this guy play Superman back when I was a wee child.  R.I.P. Mr. Reeve a.k.a. Superman   Cry

I wasn?t expecting him to die at all, but I guess this might be the best for him in soem ways, I know I?d feel better dead than living with all those limitations, but that?s just me. RIP. He was truly a man of steel.

DAMN.....

Reeves was great man..he seemed pretty healthy, like he was making progress.  I truly believed he would walk again someday with all the advances in science and stuff.

That sucks...he was pretty young too.

This is a good thing I think - I hated seeing Reeves in that state - really depressing when he was on TV - I wish more could have been done for him - unfortunately the limitations of science could not help him anymore - at least the battle is over - may he rest in peace

This thread was started way before I signed on, I just found it now. Although it's late, I 'm very happy to share my memories. These became my favorite movies with Christopher  Reeve when I was a very little kid. When I was 3 , I was Superman for Halloween, and in pre-school too .I still remember it like it was yesterday. I had the costume, and my mom slicked my hair back and even styled the little curl. hihi She always walked me to the little convienent store to buy the comics. Christopher Reeve was a brave man , and he lived up to the character children admired him for very well.

God Bless Christopher Reeve. He's now keeping an eye on us fans when he flies through the sky. ok
