not that i`m a big limp bizkit fan, but i think it was very interesting, having axl singing on breakstuff for example.  i think i would fit in the new gnr`s style, and axl hasn`t something against hip hop influenced music.

Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones. It has the same menacing feeling as "Welcome to the Jungle".

woah, I second that  ok but maybe a song that wasn't so comercial, like ....mouthful of cavities or  2x4 (which happens to sound a little like rhiad and the bedouins )

Can't believe no-one's said this yet...

I want two covers. The front and the back.

But seriously, folks. It'd be quite funny if GN'R did a Velvet Revolver cover, just for giggles - Suckertrain Blues has some shrieking in it that'd suit Axl.

A Queen song would be pretty good, too - Now I'm Here would be fun, or Brian May's Resurrection (with harmony tapping solo!)

I think I already responded to this (or similar thread) but I have a new idea for a perfect Axl cover.

19th NERVOUS BREAKDOWN by the Stones

Take a listen to this one again and tell me it wouldn't be perfect.? ok

Watching the wheels by john lennon.

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go,

People asking questions lost in confusion,
Well I tell them there's no problem,
Only solutions,
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind,
I tell them there's no hurry...
I'm just sitting here doing time,

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go.

This may seem stupid... but how about Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins... The song obviously is not the coolest but Axl's voice doing it would kick ass.  I don't know.  I may be totally wrong.

If the mighty Gnr were to do a cover, i would love them to do a version of Led Zeppelins 'Thank you' or maybe an Aerosmith Classic like 'Dream On'.  With Axls voice on any of these songs it would be fantastic!
Enough of what covers they should be covering, we want the album out.  I dont know how the rest of the die hard gnr fans are feeling but im really frustrated by different rumors when the album will be released.  I just HOPE it will come out sooner rather than later.
