Maybe she is a different "pure." Your stories seem childish.

No, it's gotta be the same pure. What's childish is posting 15 smilies as a "reply" like she did. Is she the one writing for the L.A. Times or something??

Pure is short for "Pure Bullshit" he posted back at gnrx awhile back, he never got anything right, and as jarmo mentioned, the only replies you would get from him would be smiley's, the only reason people followed him for awhile was because he guessed right about the vma's.

Every year somebody starts a rumor about GNR at the VMA's so maybe it was pure luck and stadistical probability.

Much like Danny.... but @ least Danny has a sense of humour.

Pure heard the studio version of The Blues, it's breathtaking.

Bollocks we're going to get the single in December - they need to recruit a new guitarist, re-record Buckethead's parts, work out the new guy's creative input into the songs, rehearse and put together a tour. I doubt they can manage all of that before December...

SG

Why would they need to re-record buckethead's parts?  And if the album is done or almost done there would be no room for anymore "creative input".  The new guy just needs to learn his parts and rehearse with the band.  It didn't take long for Gilby Clarke to be brought on board.

Because this time around, Axl's effectively having to relauch his career, and he wants to launch the band as a cohesive unit. Most of the delays to date are the result of Axl trying to create an entirely new band with genuine chemistry; hence the recruitment and departure of the likes of Josh Freese, Gary Sunshine, Dave Navarro and now Buckethead.

For the new guitarist to be truly part of the band, he has to be able to bring his own input to the album, playing the parts in his own way, not just parroting Buckethead's stuff. So he has to go and re-record the parts. They did the same thing when Paul Huge quit and Richard Fortus joined, they should do the same thing here - because this isn't "Axl and his interchangeable hired guns", this is a band - something which a lot of people here don't seem to have grasped... and it's unbelievably disrespectful to the new guy to treat him as the one member of the band who doesn't have any creative input into the album. You've waited over a decade now, a couple of months more won't make any difference...

Going along with what Tommy has stated, Chinese Democracy is scheduled to be in mixing stages very shortly so its way past the point to scrap all of Buckethead's contributions to the album and re-record from scratch with a new guy on guitar. Tommy and Dizzy were both under the impression Buckethead wasnt going to be replaced so my instict is that this is perhaps an at the last second replacement for live performances and not finishing touches on Chinese Democracy. You say its disrespectful to leave Buckethead's parts on the album and not re-record with this new guy but in vice versa wouldnt it be disrespectful to Buckethead to erase his many contributions to the album as well. I mean he did put his solo career on pause for GnR for about 4 years and worked his ass off no doubt on this album, I think the least Axl and the band can do is respect his many contributions to this project and leave the recordings he has completed as they are.

Completely agree. Erasing Buckethead`s parts would be disrespectful for his 4 years in GNR.  Buckethead should be a collaborator to CD, kinda like when Dave Mustaine was left on Kill`em all. When that was released Metallica had already sent him packing. IMO , Let Bumblefoot go on tour with them and he can record with the band for the followup.

The most simple thing to do would be to just credit Buckethead in the credits for Chinese Democracy or in the Thank You's somewhere. Its pretty clear that Buckethead has perhaps broken all ties with GnR, so it wouldnt leave Axl in a situation to pay Buckethead royalties or anything for his contributions to the album.

He wouldnt have to pay out royalties if Axl and BH agreed to what I think they may have.
BH broke his contract thus opening hiimself out to getting sued.  So Axl maybe have said he will let BH out of his contract if BH agreeds not to get rotyalies for his parts used on CD.

Agreed. Seems like a pretty decent compromise between both parties if that is in fact how it went down. Im guessing Axl didnt persue Buckethead's breach of contract since Im sure we would have heard within these 6 months of a lawsuit between the two. Do you happen to know how long Buckethead was still on contract with GnR for? Seems to me if it was only a year or 2 he might have better just stuck it out and not put his at the time band members through a shitstorm of hassles and delays.

Buckethead first came on board in 2000, so if as you said that his contract supposedly was up in 2006 then im going to guess bandmember contracts or maybe just his are in 3 year renual intervals, because 6 years is a pretty long period of time to sign on to any project for. Buckethead's explanation for his departure was that he was unhappy with no touring and the fact that the album was still not anywhere in sight after the failed 2002 tour, so Im a little curious why he perhaps renued his contract somewhere in 2003 only to break it a short period of time later.

maybe it's like those subscription websites; do nothing and it automatically renews. I wonder if bucket had to leave a credit card number in order to receive his credits?

i hope the new guitarist will replace the wierdo bucket stuff,   cause it is too disjointed for a lot of fans.    GNR is more for
sexy bluesy and dirty sleaze that attracts us chicks.    even though that bucket guy could do the old eddie v halen tap stuff
thats more for 18 yr old boys trying to learn guitar than anything meaningful to a song.    he's the kind of guy that like to
pee on girls or something creepy like that.

could we please get a cute guy that can play the guitar,   is that too much to ask for?      girls pipe in,    guys back to

As for replacing Bucketheads parts - I can't see it happening. Axl obviously liked what he had done with the songs so changing them would mean making huge alterations which would very possibly make them weaker.

Depending on the contract that Buckethead has, he may not be entitled to any royalties.  It depends on the stipulations in the contract.  He may have just been paid a fee for his work, enabling Axl to keep most of the royalties from the sale of CD.

I work for a company which produces documentaries and there is an option to take a larger up front payment and not get a percentage of any profits or take a smaller payment and a cut of profits.  It may be the case that Axl has inserted stipulations of his own into the contracts of the people that came into the band to ensure his control.  Remember that he called Matt Sorum "a former employee".
