I.Q. test

Have you already done this test? what's your result?
I made it a couple of weeks ago (logical problems, space problems, psychometric problems etc...)? and my result was 138. 1 person on 1000 reached the score 140 so I'm not that far with 138!?
The average score is between 95 and 105. The general average is about 100.
There are different tests, at the begining it's easy but at the end it's really difficult! However I'll try to do another one in the future just to see if it's my real score or if it was just some luck. Sometimes I had absolutely no idea, I answered "like that" and then it was right! I was very lucky for that test. Maybe a second one would be better to evaluate my real I.Q.?

Yeah I did it out of curiosity. I got a 143 if I remember correctly. I am not bragging or anything tho because that and the dollar I have in my wallet won't buy me a good cup of coffee so I don't put much stock into it. Plus I didn't take a long drawn out one I did it online.

O-K...I don't know how much more basic I could get. I took the test. I got a 143. I don't think it is very important tho because it doesn't change anything about your life and I took it online so I am not sure it's the real thing. I said the coffee thing because I was trying to convey the message about how it's just for fun and not really important.

At the MENSA, many people have above 160
They have no " genius" jobs to show off with. My aunt, for instance, is a history teacher and has an IQ of 183.

when you do good in an iq test all it means is that you did good in an iq test, just like any other test.

haven't we had this discussion before.

there are other ways of testing intelligence, i mean how often do we need to figure out how to make 5 triangles out of 7 match sticks or something stupid like that.

i've never taken an iq test. when i do i hope to score a spastic score of 60 or something. then if by chance i become rich and successful, i will technically be the dumbest millionaire alive. brilliant

I've done a dozen of those tests with my score ranging from 130 to over 160. The thing with an IQ test is that so far almost every test has been culture or language bound, and so has not been a very good measurement of someones intelligence.. I really don't put all that much weight on the tests because a) the culture thing, b) a lot of those questions are the type of questions that you can practice beforehand.

Btw... People always say that Einstein had an IQ of 160... Did they even have IQ tests back then, and how many of you honestly believe that results from back then are comparable with the ones we have today.. The mensa tests in Finland have been made harder 2-4 times within the last 20 years if I remember correctly in order to keep the average IQ at 100 (It's not a coincidence that the average is 100)...

I really don't care too much of the tests. An idiot will always be an idiot no matter what IQ he/she has.

online tests are no way to test IQ, only a Mensa test can do that...plus online tests always want you to think that you are better than what you are and exaggerate it by probably about 20-30 points...so that you will come back or promote that site...its a basic marketing trick and the smart ones should have spotted that by now...

and Einstein certainly had an IQ higher than 160, i recall hearing it was nearer 200

I actually took a real one as a kid, you know, I sat down with a tester and everything and scored very high.  I think it was in the 150's but I don't remember the exact number.  As an adult I took one online and got 148.  Does that mean I've gotten stupider as I've gotten older???

I also don't put much stock in IQ tests, because a high IQ didn't stop me from screwing up in school, or get me to make great life choices...but damn I can solve math problems without a calculator...woohoo!

Also, even though the exact numbers are not terribly accurate and don't adjust for cultural barriers, they are somewhat accurate in a general sense.  I work with mentally retarded people, and they all have low IQ's.  The lower the IQ, the more retarded they are.

"Mentally Retarded" is a medical diagnosis whether you think its PC or not.  I work in the industry and that is the term used.

And the correllation between functioning level and IQ is there, its a fact, not my opinion.
