Apparently Izzy joined the band on stage in Paris for two songs, "Used To Love Her" and "It's So Easy".

Yep, I was there and Mr Izzy Stradlin' came on for those two songs.
Man, what a rush in the crowd when he was introduced ! He was cheered far more than VR, it was almost embarrassing for the other guys
This is the setlist as far as I can remember :
Suckertrain blues
Do it for the kids
Headspace
Spectacle
Crackerman
Illegal I song
Fall to pieces
Big Machine
Set me free
Used to love her (w/ Izzy)
It's so easy (w/ Izzy)
Sex type thing
Slither
Show was good but not excellent in my opinion. That was mainly due to the poor sound : guitars and drums were tuned much too loud and vocals much too low (Scott and Duff's backing vocals could hardly be heard
) And I still have much trouble getting used to Scott's "stage presence"....
Anyway I'm really happy I've seen Izzy, it'll probably be the only opportunity I'll ever get to see him (unless I fly to Japan for one of his rare shows
)

Oh, I hope Izzy doesn't join VR in Madrid. I won't be able to attend but my friends there will. If Izzy shows up my friends will drive me crazy for missing the show.

Velvet Revolver show in Paris (reviews)

- Amazing. great show. totally sold out.
- great chemistry, especially between the ex-GN'R members. Slash is very impressive on stage, a lot of charisma. He was the main attraction for the audience.
- Duff is awseome, great charisma and chemistry too, he looked awesome, very muscled.
- Matt is amazing
- Dave is fucking skilled at guitar! believe me, he is an EXELLENT technician. He rocks.
- Scott has an awesome stage presence. very charismatic. However, I do think he took drug because he had a strange behaviour on stage. During a moment, he talked to us (audience) speaking about drugs, but he was very slow, Nobody really understood what he was saying, he definitely hadn't a normal behaviour tonight. He seemed depressed...
and then...
- IZZY STRADLING WENT ON STAGE?
AMAZING
, I was blown away. guys, this is Izzy Stradling! they played I used to love her and It's so easy. STRONG CHEMISTRY between him, Slash and Duff. It was History.
- 5 minutes after the show, on the streets, Izzy went to sign autograph, I was very close to him, maybe 2 or 3 metters, he seems to be very nice, and very introspective. I think he doesnt't like the celebrity status. He rather prefer to work in the shadow, not to be under the spotlights. sweet guy. wee looked each other and I said "you are a legend".
great show but too short (1h20). No doubt next time they will be able to play an arena here in Paris.
Good night,
Nesquick.

Wow... this is so awesome that Izzy is special guesting at a few VR shows!! Damn! To those who saw this... you're all so truly lucky!! It must have been an amazing concert... seeing Izzy, Duff, Slash & Matt together up on stage, along with Scott and Dave. Wish I could've been there!

As everybody said, the show was excellent even though Scott Weiland's vocals were a bit drown in the mix.
I am a huge supporter of Axl's version of GN'R (and I wish to make it clear that I still support Axl Rose no matter what...) but I have to say that the quality of Velvet Revolver's performance was undeniable. The band was really tight, and the words "charisma" and "chemistry" are very likely to be featured in almost all the reviews of the show since they seem to come to mind as if it was obvious. Duff was very impressive, and Slash stole the show, notably during Illegal I and Slither. Matt's drumming was solid as usual, and it was even excellent during Illegal I (definitely a highlight) and Set me free. Set me free was also a highlight as it showed how good Dave Kushner really is (the dueling solos with Slash were astounding...).
Of course, the real highlight of the night was when Izzy came on stage: I was blown away to see him for the first time, and I was even more blown away by the reaction from the crowd. Anybody who was there will be able to confirm that the screams that were aimed at him ("Izzy! Izzy!") were clearly louder (and i mean really louder) than the ones aimed at the members of VR: it was really impressive...
As for Scott Weiland: he is definitely a very good frontman, a very good showman, and he put a very energetic performance... but, at least for me (I acknowledge that this comment might be totally subjective), he is clearly not as intense as Axl Rose or Layne Staley. Maybe I am wrong but I think you can see him act and sometimes overact - which prevents the performance to reach the level of intensity that an Axl Rose can reach. Scott Weiland has his style and he fits perfectly in Velvet Revolver (he was definitely a very good choice, if not the best...), but I just don't adhere completely to this style...
On the other hand, I want to specify that, as far as I know, the only thing he did say about drugs was that Fall To Pieces was a song about a woman (his wife) and a song about drugs, as it was a song about a hard time in his life that he had to go through because of drugs: so he said that drugs kinda inspired him the song Fall To Pieces...
That's all...

s
I may have one or two but I was at duff's side of the stage and he was at slash's !
But I do have friends who were on the right side !
It's funny but the more I see Scott live the more I kinda like him, he has a presence that's for sure ! Well, he's not that funny when he says things like "GNR are in the grave" or when he makes fun of a redhead guy I actually appreciate !

yes, definitely. that was
very
impressive. There was a kind of strong respect for Izzy. The ovation was fantastic. "izzy! izzy! izzy!"...THE SUMMUM of the show for me when he was there.

At least one person filmed the show from the balcony and there were two professional cameras at the back of the venue

From the Velvet Revolver Yahoo Group (sorry, no source was mentioned)
According to Olivier Rouhet of Rock Hard France, "Izzy spent the afternoon hanging out with the
VELVET guys in the Hotel Raphael, close to the Champs Elys?es and
while a lot of jounalists were there, they did not recognize him with
his new Bruce Springsteen-like look!"
