NO no no no and no! Guns n' Roses doesn't need a Metal guitarist. This is not the sound of this band:
Guns N ' Roses is a ROCK N ROLL band. Fortus is the man.

They need someone that can play BHs parts and both of them could.

Falcon - do you think Billy would mention this news on the Camp Freddy radio show?  I forget if it's on Saturdays or sundays. I just think it would be funny to hear him and Dave talk about it.

I think its bullshit.
Ps axl SHOULD call paul gilbert or steve vai

Billy currently gigging with some of the best musicians in the world via Camp Freddy and is a member of the hottest LA buzz band in LA at this point in time so I doubt he's being anything less than legit, his peer group would never let him hear the end of it..

Dont think axl would ask a BASSIST to play lead.

Read the above post, Billy's a guitar player who merely played bass as a favor to old friends in a touring situation, he's currently and forever will be a guitar player first and foremost.  Doing just that with the likes of Dave Navarro and a multitude of guitar luminaries in CF and his new band Doheny....

Possibly, he's an extemely likeable guy with great stories from the old days in England an has been forthcoming in the questions asked of him, who knows?

As he said, his background and style aren't suited for GNR, he's a punk guy with the Steve Jones mentality.

God love him.

that is funny because in the AFD days Axl, slash, duff, izzy and steven were panhandlers as well.

Billy [...] is a member of the hottest LA buzz band in LA at this point in time

Are you referring to Doheny?  How do you know all this?  I live in LA and I couldnt tell you who the hottest LA band is right now...I dont have my finger on the pulse  hihi

Is it similar to Camp Freddy?  meaning, do they just play cover songs.  Or have they recorded an original album?

That would be correct, Doheny.

Not a CF type thing, a new band fronted by JS Clayden, former lead singer of Britains seminal Pitchshifter.

Very hot band.

I think BH performed some alien ritual on Tommy Stinson, who quit the band. So Axl is now looking for a guitarist and a bassist  rofl

Maybe Richard would move up to lead with Robin, and Billy would replace Richard in the rhythm section...

I've got a theory on this... and it could actually be good news.

I'd guess and say they asked Morrison to audition, but probably didn't tell him what parts, since he didn't agree to it. So it could have been for rhythm, but who knows, maybe lead. Either way, I'd say this suggests a tour soon. Combine it with Tommy's talk of the band getting back together towards the end of the year. Whether a new guy plays lead or Finck or Fortus move there and a new guy fills the rhythm spot, whoever joins needs some time to learn the new songs etc.

I can't see Axl re-doing BH's parts on the album. At this point he has to know time is running out and he's gotta get active soon. Then again, it's Axl.

Billy was basically the Cult's touring bass player..not sure if he recorded with them on their last LP a couple
of years ago.
He's younger than the other guys in the? cult and has short black hair. The blonde hair guitarist is Billy Duffy, who by the way, is a great player and is/was recently gigging around LA in a cover band called "Cardboard Vampires" with
Jerry Cantrell and John Corabi.

all of them together? are you serious...??
