Hypothetical question: If John Lennon hadn't been murdered, what do you think he would have thought of Axl Rose? Since Lennon was a big advocate of peace and tolerance, would he have hated Axl, like Cobain? Or would he have sympathized with him because he also was abandoned by his parents.? I just watched the movie "Imagine" and Lennon as a youth kind of reminded me of Axl.

I think Lennon would "tolerate" Axl, not necesarily hate him or like him, but in the middle of those two extremes.

John Lennon loved singing with a piano. Axl loves it too. There are similiraties between the 2. But Axl was (is?) more raw, and wild.

Although Lennon was a big feedom to everyone people, he kicked Stu Sutcliffe on the head and had fights with the police and different people for a hundred times. I think he'd have liked Axl.

I think he would feel towards Axl like Elton John does. They stand for different things, but they can see through that and see the artistic genius...

I think not.

Axl Rose would probably get on best with maccartney as he is more tolerant of people.

Catcher in the Rye will probably be one of the more beautiful songs on the album. I can only imagine how Axl will deliver lyrically on that song, if in fact its a tribute to Lennon. And if its good, it could be a crossover type song for the band, because of the Lennon connection....

I remember reading Catcher in the Rye was about Lennon, but who stated this?  How is this stuff confirmed if Axl Rose himself never mentioned this title or what it's about.  I really don't believe it, we'll get a complete crazy list of songs on CD in my opinion.

The piece of shit who killed Lennon was obsessed with Catcher in the Rye and thought he was Hauldin Caufield.
