Why does it says in the "(if you are new here read this first)" thread, that Get in the Ring was never played live? the song really sounds like it was played live. Also I know those GNR comic books maybe are not the most reliable source of information out there, but in there it says they did played the song live.

I can't believe you just said that

I don't think it ever was played live... the album version had canned crowd chants added in the studio.

There were a few songs that were never really performed live, the most notable one being Don't Damn Me... such a waste of such a kickass tune  Sad

They never played the song live.  The crowd chants were taken from a May 1991 show at which Axl got the fans to chant "Get in the Ring!  Get in the Ring!  Get in the Ring!"

In other threads refering to the UYI albums I have heard the song referred to as filler by some people but it's always been one of my favorites. Woulda been awesome to hear it live. Woulda been cool if Axl ranted about something different everytime too, hell knows he was never short of people pissing him off.

Her's a funny fantasy:
A big investors group pays each member a 100 mill $ to play a one time only gig, broadcasted to the whole world on live TV on a giant stadium in front of 350 000 spectators. And they would play a 4-5 hours long set with each and every song played in cronological order starting with Welcome to the Jungle, and ending with Look at your game girl, and have every member who actually recorded the song play it live.. Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steven, Matt, Gilby, Dizzy and the back up singers and horn section, Teddy ect.. And have a lot og big names as guests, like all the celebrity artists that some of the members have worked with some time along the way.. Like Bob Dylan joining them on KOHD, Paul McKartny on Live and let die..Zack Wylde, Lenny Kravitz, hell, even Michael Jackson. I would pay everything I got for that experience, woulden't you? And that way we would have a conclution to the Guns N Roses, everybody would hug and make up..No more bad blood.. And it would have been historical..And we would finally hear the few songs they never did play live for the first and last time. And every member could continue do whatever they would want to do..And don't forget the fans, how this would like put an end to all the confusion and dissapointments for years know..

Coolman78SLASH for president!!!!! Im with you, it would be glorious.

Talking about Get in the ring, then the whole ending when Axl says: "this song is dedicated to all the GNFR fans who stuck with us throu all the sh$%&t, and to all those oposed, hmmm, well..." is either actually the ending for another song or just recorded in the studio and pasted into the crowd screams?Huh

I fell like they made a fool out of me for so many years.  Undecided

its actually duff who says that at the end of the song isn't it? Anyway as far as the HUGE ons hot show idea, I love it. It would have to be recorded and released on dvd and album tho. And Izzy and Gilby would have to be turned up so you could hear them unlike on Live Era and the conert vids from UYI tour.

Finally I know the truth, I can't belive all this years I thought mistakenly that it was actually played live and that Axl was the one who talked at the end of the song. hehehe.  hihi

I wonder how did Duff got that voice that sounds like he has been singing live for hours. hehe.
