1. Who will promote the tour? Who can they go to besides clear channel?
2. What kind of venues will they play?
3. And the million dollar question is...will they tour as a seven piece, or get a new guitar player?

1. It doesn't matter who promotes it, Axl will somehow fuck it up.
2. It doesn't matter what types of venues they play, Axl will somehow fuck it up.
3. It doesn't matter whether they go out as a 5, 6, 7 piece, whatever, Axl will surely somehow fuck it up.

1. CC will so do it, Axl will go over seas first and show he can behave. CC will also give gnr less money up front to cover their ass this time.
2. They will play bigger venues in cities like boston, ny, la, and play in smaller venues in the cities didnt that sell well last tour IMO.
3. BH will be back, so dont worry  ok

Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

As much as I love and admire Buckethead as my favorite member of the group of ALL TIME besides Axl.  I think it's just wishful thinking on your part David.  How do you get your information, the rumor board?

If he's under contract, Geffen could make him tour.

They cant make him tour. They might have him under contract for CD and can use what he has already put down. But unless he signed a contract to tour this upcoming tour they cant make him tour

thats what i thought, i figured if he has signed the contract to tour and then pulls out they could sue him for breach of contract or something,  but if hasnt signed anything then they cant make him,

We will know in the near future.

2. What kind of venues will they play?

Bigger in Europe, arenas in the US (that is until the band get some hype from MTV and ofcourse the sales of CD)

3. And the million dollar question is...will they tour as a seven piece, or get a new guitar player?

I don't believe that they'll get a new guitar player. They'll probably go on with Fortus and Finck.

the european tour will have local promoters in each country, since there isn't a monopoly here like cc's on the USA.

gn'r day in rock in rio was selling really well, so that gave good signs of european crowds to promoters.  they're schedulled to play in a 18.000 capacity pavillion in Lisboa early next year.

grabaraxl is right. and besides GN'R sold more tickets here in two weeks time, than VR have sold for their coliseum date in a couple of weeks. V'rs Show isn't even sold out and it's been on sale for almost two months now and it's a small venue considering the band that's playing (3.000 people).

EMA Telstar, the biggest promoter in Scandinavia, is owned by Clear Channel......

Hold on there buckaroo...I would think Axl has to release some material before he can even think of going on tour...but then again you never know, 'cause the European tour never right...

If the contract he's currently under entails making an album and touring to support said album, I think they could sue him. I don't see Geffen throwing $13.5 million into an album and then letting one person put the supporting tour in major jeopardy.

As far as I know Infinity only owns radio stations, I don't think they have their greedy little paws in everything like CC. And they aren't part of CC, they are CC's major competetor in the Radio industry.

Chinese Democracy Is Coming Some Day!!!

« Reply #17 on: August 27, 2004, 09:12:19 PM »

The promoter would have to be Clear Channel they own almost every large venue in almost every US city. Why wont the FCC do anything about it? F- Clear Channel

To be honest with you I dont care who the promoter is as long as they will go out and promote the next tour.

Probrally would not be wise to book large venues in the smaller markets next time around. (at first anyway). I think when CD is finally out the momentum will build pretty fast. Axl has more charisma than anyone in VR, so I think GNR will draw a lot more of an audience.
