Limp Bizkit "results may vary"  this cd is one of the best cds ive ever heard this century, it is way better than contraband even in my opinion, Fred writes some great lyrics and the songs are so touching and beautiful on this cd, very very underrated!!!!!!!

they simply released the wrong singles, eat you alive and behind blue eyes are 2 of the worst songs on here "let me down,"lonely world" "phenomenon", build a bridge, down another day,"creamer (all radio is dead) "drown", "underneath the gun" are so fuckin amazing!

earth vs. the wildhearts by The WiLDHEARTS

It is one of the greatest rock 'n' roll albums ever made.

I was just wondering what albums do you love that have been slated, have had awful reviews and have failed to sell much at all (unknown bands don't count it's obvious why they sell fuck all). ?Not quite the underated albums otherwise too many will be listed e.g.'The Spaghetti Incident?' ?although it failed to succeed like other GN'R albums it did not get totally critisced and i would not say it failed. ?Albums i believe have are;

M?tley Cr?e - Generation Swine
It is my fave M?tley Cr?e album i think it's great but all the reviews ive read have said it sucked. ?Classic Rock said Vince was back for 1997's 'Generation Swine but the mojo was gone and they gave it 2 stars. ?They experimented on the album and i thought the results were damn good and i cannot fail a single track. ?I believe though it was one of the poorest selling Cr?e albums and maybe at the time it was in fact the poorest selling but i don't know how tracks like 'Afraid' and 'Brandon' can be faulted.

Skid Row - ThickSkin
This album has really been slated. ?Kerrang gave it 1K out of 5K's and Classic Rock gave it 2 stars. ?Now i realise the great Sebastian Bach has departed and Johnny Solinger cannot reach his vocal range (who can?) but it is still a damn good album. ?Tracks like 'Born A Beggar', 'Ghost', 'See You Around' and 'One Light' would not be out of place on a Best of Skid Row album. ?I admit 'Thick Is The Skin' and 'Hittin' A Wall' are medicore at best but overall this album is great Johnny in his first outing has done good not great but good. ?Snake/Bolan/Hill have shown they can write damn good melodies and if they had got a major label to put this out rather than doing it themselves im sure it would have done a hell of a lot better.

I like the Crue and Skid Row, but I think both of those albums are pretty weak. The Crue tried to make a Nine Inch Pumpkins album, and Skid Row is just bland without Bach. Here are my picks:

1. Garbage- Beatiful Garbage
2. Motley Crue- Motley Crue
3. Pearl Jam- Riot Act
4. Van Halen- 3
5. Stone Temple Pilots- SLDD
6. Poison- Native Tounge
7. Scott Weiland- 12 Bar Blues
8. Union-Union
9. Union- Blue Room
10. Black Sabbath- Born Again though Forbiden
11. Skid Row- Subhuman Race
12. Izzy  Stradlin- all his records

Faith No More - King For A Day... Fool For A Lifetime

After the huge success of 'The Real Thing' and 'Angel Dust', this record was considered a sort of letdown. That's something I've never really understood, cos it's such a solid album from start to finish. Great variety and some pretty good humour, to me it's better than 'Angel Dust', even.

I owe this album an apoloagy

I have always hated it - then i listened to it today, and just love it. Great variety, some really cool chilled out stuff too - top notch album and to think for years its been gathering dust in the corner.

I will have to listen to 'album of the year' again too

Use Your Illusion I (1991)

« Reply #31 on: August 26, 2004, 04:16:14 PM »

This is a good topic... good job Stoned!

I have a decent collection of cds, 131 cds none of them are burned. All except 4-8 are in excellent condition.

THat's over 1,200 dollars of my money. So they are important to me.

Albums that are underrated are definatley these:

Skid Row - Thickskin (No Bach, who needs Bach? He had a great voice but that was it)

Bon Jovi - These Days (Bon Jovi's most full and strongest lyrical album... you just can't argue with me on this)

Neurotic Outsiders - Self-Titled (An great album that got 0 attention almost)

Bret Michaels - Song For Life (Good album with 0 push so you don't hear much about it)

Seether - Disclaimer I or II (Great rock record... needs to be out their more)

Three Days Grace - Huh I forget lol (Awesome steady album with great fillers and hit songs)

Def Leppard - Slang (This has got to be the most fucked over album in rock. It is a solid performance with no backup, I love this album... rock on Def Lep!!!!!)

Those are some that I could think of right now at this time.... I think they are legitimate...

What you guys think?

Bret Michaels - Song For Life (Good album with 0 push so you don't hear much about it)
I'm glad you brought that up i had totally forgotten about it but it really is great i would rank it over some Poison records it still has the same fun feel but it has a little more maturity and the song Raine is great and if you know the story behind it you will understand how heartfelt it is as it dedicated to his daughter.  I really can't pick a bad track on this album even the bonus tracks Party Rock Band & Stay With Me are pretty damn good.  I think it's called Songs of Life btw dude.  I think one review i read sums up the whole album: Michaels' Songs of Life may not be breaking any new ground, but it sure is fun.

Songs for Life is a good album. His other album, A Letter From Death Row really sucks.

I'd have to say that the Red Hot Chili Peppers' early albums are underatted.  A lot of people had never heard of them and didn't know they had albums before Blood Sugar Sex Magic.  In fact, they had four!   "Red Hot Chilli Peppers" "Freaky Styley" "Uplift Mofo Party Plan" and "Mother's Milk".  These cd's are a far cry from their melodic pop as of late.  They are pretty much pure funk.  All of these early cd's are great and often overlooked and/or forgotten.

ps-Favorite RHCP cd=Freaky Styley
