Matt Sorum sure has a lot to say for a man that was rescued from total obscurity less than one year ago....

what obscurity is that...less than a year ago? do tell

For sure, Matt's been a fixture on the rock scene since 1989 and stayed active with the likes of The Cult, Sammy Hagar, Camp Feddy, Billy Idol and Neurotic Outsiders.

Hardly a guy looking for a gig..

Sorum was just saying he'd never want to tour in Axl's band again. Who could blame him.

So, Sorum's joking aside, VR agreed to play in Lisbon? Why didn't they play? Did they cancel, was it even officially confirmed...

I repeat it:

Why are you so sure that it was RIR4? It could be RIR5 'cause as it'll take place in Lisbon again.

For humor sake, as Matt never tells lies  Roll Eyes Grin, this was passed via management. Their response;

"Matt is lying. We have approval of all support offers."

Obviously, too many more porky pies of this nature and Matt will be able to use his extended nose as a third drumstick  hihi

Read the last paragraph carefully.

Somebody made the GNR RIR connection when it was merely anounced that there will be a RIR in '06. GNR were confirmed to play in the most recent one.

Not in 2006.

Yes....before VR Matt was regularily appearing on albums of the highest quality and working with the biggest names, he was regaularily in the news and laid a firm claim on being a 'A' list musician

No, i didn't think so either.

Maybe obscurity was the wrong word and i take that back but he is perhaps getting a bit too carried away with his return to the spotlight.

Also as Mysteron has kindly shared with us - Matt was lying

Again.

Certianly appears that Matt has let things go to his head wouldn't u say?

Playing with the likes of Navarro, Duffy and Jones I'd say he's in fine "A" list company to say the least..

It's not like he's been rollin' with guys from novelty bands (Primus) or dude's that have never been creative forces in their own right (Finck)...

Yes - he hangs around with big stars. Which only highlights his lack of status

U got the wrong guy mate!

U seem to believe i'm one of those Axl zealots who fight for newGNR at every turn - if u cast ur mind back u will remember i am hardly the strongest supporter of certain members of the new band.

I like Sorum as a musician but he's taking his return to the top to far and running his mouth now that he has the media's attention (after 10 years of ignoring him) - as Mysteron has demonstrated - Sorum is at best misguided and at worse...well a liar.

When I read the article, I just assumed Matt was joking.
I think it was the word "laughter" in big block letters in parenthesis that gave it away.
Doesn't anyone have a sense of humor anymore?? Undecided

I think Matt's comments are valid. Some people you learn you just don't want to deal with, for whatever reason. It is reality. There are people in my office with whom, given the choice, I would choose to have no contact. So to me Matt's coment is 100% understandable.
